Got a call from an insurance company about a follow up for a catalogue I ordered from. Someone rang up asking for a Mr Johnson, I told them straight I’ve got the wrong number. Then she goes, “Oh, sorry love, can I have your name so I can take you off our calling list?” Honestly, do they really think I’m daft? You don’t need my name just to stop ringing me. These folks are proper scammers and will try anything to get a leg up.

Got a call from Solution Insurance Services out of the blue, with them asking for my payment info for some policy I never signed up for. After chatting for like 40 minutes, the call just dropped on me. Then I got bombarded with like 15 calls back to back, it was nonstop. After the seventh call, I ended up blocking their number. I’ve got an old wired phone that barely rings nowadays, but these lot still tried. The weird thing is, they already knew who my insurer was and some other bits about me.

It was First Utility, and even after me trying to politely end the call, they kept me talking for half an hour before I had to hang up. I’m normally quite polite, so it’s really frustrating.
