I got a call from a woman saying she was with Southwell Insurance, which apparently operates out in Nebraska. What struck me as odd was the number she called from had a Nottingham area code - 01158600169. Seems a bit strange for a company that far away, don’t you think?

Got a call from Solution Insurance Services, some English woman. When I asked where they got my number, she said I gave it to them in a phone survey on 3rd May. Yeah, right! I ended up arguing with her and her supervisor about the TPS regulations. They went on about how they’re allowed to ring me even though I’m registered with TPS. And after all that, they expected me to actually want their insurance offers! Told them to do one and blocked their number through my phone provider.

Got a call from a bloke named Mike Burke from Insurance Solutions out of the blue trying to push buildings and contents cover on me. Had already sorted my renewal so I wasn’t interested in any quote. Bit sketchy that he had my postcode and house number - reckon he could easily work out my street from that info. This number keeps popping up on my phone, and after seeing others’ comments, I’ll just block it or not bother answering next time.

This company goes by Solution Insurance Services Ltd and pretends they’re offering you a home insurance quote. Don’t give them any details - just hang up. They tend to mess with what you say to catch you out and make a sale. If you’re getting loads of calls like this, consider getting a phone that can block unknown numbers. You can get a caller ID from your phone provider for a small yearly fee, and it’s really worth it to stop these irritating calls. Honestly, the government needs to step in because the TPS scheme hasn’t done a thing.

I tried searching for them online but can't be 100% sure if they're legit. You might want to look them up yourself and decide. If they ring you, don’t bother listening, just hang up cos they might keep you chatting for ages like 60 minutes. Just a heads up!

It’s the same deal, dodgy people dialling loads of numbers blindly just trying to catch someone older or easy to trick. They’ll ring like a hundred numbers and if by luck they land on one unsuspecting person, job done for them. Proper scumbags, that’s all they are.

Got a quote for buildings and contents insurance, and they wanted me to pay straight away, saying there’s a cooling off period. I said no, I’d wait for my renewal letter first. I’m not about to pay upfront to someone I don’t really know - they could easily clean out your bank once they have your info. When I pressed them about which survey they were on about-fully aware that I’ve never filled in a single survey in my life-their representative was rather reticent and wouldn’t elaborate at all. It’s about time someone took action against these kinds of nuisances!
