01157789628 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01157789628 👆 is reported as a persistent scam operation posing as NHS officials, often relating to COVID-19 vaccinations and health checks. Callers frequently use fake or spoofed UK numbers and may speak with heavy non-British accents, requesting personal details or insurance information before abruptly hanging up when challenged. Many calls are silent or end without leaving messages. Users advise ignoring and blocking the number, as well as reporting it to official fraud channels such as Action Fraud and the police phishing report site. Blocking alone offers limited protection due to number spoofing. Collective reporting and political lobbying for caller ID authentication technology are recommended to help combat these fraudulent calls effectively.

Got a call pretending to be from the NHS about Covid, total scam. Don't trust those numbers!

Some bloke rang claiming to be from the NHS asking about my covid jab. I told him I don’t share personal stuff like that over the phone, and if he really needed the info, it should be right there on his system. He just ended the call straight away.

Got a call about some vaccine thing and they kept wanting me to give my married name, which I haven’t used in ages (usually I say she’s passed away). They then asked if I’d had the jab, but I told him that was private and not his concern. He kept insisting it was his business and he had to know, but I kept refusing. After a bit, he just hung up on me. I've blocked that number now.

This number called me twice today, both times I missed it. I thought I’d look it up here first, and good thing I did. I’ve blocked it now, but I’m not surprised if they try ringing again from another number. Probably a scam, honestly.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from the NHS. Creepy thing was, he knew my full name and address. He said he could see all my details on his screen but asked me to confirm who my insurer was. I told him well, it sounds like you've got everything right there already. Then the cheeky bloke just hung up on me.

This number looks like one of those Covid scam calls ive been getting non stop. People have been sharing it here so im gonna report it too. Its such a pain, these nasty scammers dont stop, and honestly blocking them just doesnt seem to help much with the amount i get. We've got to find a way to stop these dodgy calls and texts somehow.

Someone called saying they had to send me a COVID holiday certificate. Totally a scam.

Got a call from a woman with a strong Indian accent who introduced herself as Emma, saying she was from the coronavirus vaccine team. I asked if she was with the NHS, and she said yes. Then I clarified, asking if that meant the National Health Service, and she agreed. I asked her to tell me my NHS number, but she said she couldn’t share that, it’s confidential. I told her that if she’s calling from the NHS, surely she’d have my number, then burst out laughing. She abruptly ended the call after that 😂

Beware of scams! If you get any dodgy calls or messages, make sure to report them on the police fraud website. Just search for ‘action fraud’ and head over to the ‘police.uk’ site. There’s a section called ‘report a phishing attempt’ where you can find all the info you need. Fill in the details about the scam, including any links or web addresses you got. You don’t have to create an account or give personal info unless you’ve actually lost money. The more of these gets reported, the better chance the police have to track down these crooks.

Got a call from a guy with a strong Indian accent asking if I had a covid passport, but the connection was awful. I was a bit cheeky, and then he just ended the call.

About 15 comments down from this one, there’s a few posts that tell you step-by-step how to block a lot of these scam calls for good. But honestly, the whole thing only works if everyone getting these dodgy calls actually bothers to report every scam call or text to the right place. No one else can do it for you!

Got a call supposedly from the NHS checking up on the Covid jab. Then out of nowhere, they started talking about life insurance. I wasn’t exactly nice and told them to go sort their own!

I received a message from this number claiming to represent the NHS, advising me to get tested for Covid due to potential exposure with a positive case. Let me tell you, this is absolutely not the NHS! It’s nothing but a dodgy scam!

They called me back to back, like within a minute, but dropped the call both times before I could pick up. Definitely seems fishy to me.

when i answered, there was a brief quiet before a man with an indian accent spoke, asking if he was speaking to me. he claimed to be calling from a “covid support centre”. i didn’t wait around and just ended the call. i've gotten a few calls like this from various numbers - they usually quiz you about your vaccine and then try pushing life insurance on you. figured this was another one of those, so i cut it off quick.

I got a call from someone with an asian accent saying they were calling from the NHS about a covid jab. I had a feeling it was dodgy but kept them on the line till they started enquiring about my life insurance provider. That was when I told them to get lost!

Got a call from a guy who sounded Indian, said he was from some COVID help desk. He asked if I'd had all my vaccines and then wanted to know about my life insurance and which company it was through. I wasn't comfortable sharing that info, so I just told him no thanks, ended the call, and blocked the number straight away.

This number called me two times and ignored when I tried to stop the conversation. It's definitely a scam. Telecom should really think about blocking this number and maybe even penalise them for dragging the NHS's name through the mud.

The caller claimed to be from a covid vaccine centre, and since the number had a UK code I gave them the benefit of the doubt at first. There was loads of background noise like a call centre, and the English was really hard to understand. They said they’d send me a vaccination certificate but hung up straight away when I asked for more details about what they wanted.

He called saying he was Sam Martin from the Covid support line, but weirdly enough, just a couple days before that he’d told me he was Sam Martin from Virgin Mobile. Strange how he keeps switching, right?

I received a phone call from someone feigning to be associated with the NHS, inquiring about my vaccination status. Ironically, they claimed that "my records" indicated I had been vaccinated. When I asked for their location and raised some doubts about the legitimacy of their call, they abruptly disconnected. I strongly advise against engaging with such inquiries.
