I got a call from 0115 692 6502, a landline in Nottingham. The woman on the phone had a strong American accent and kept calling me "Ma'am." She claimed to be from Microsoft and warned me that someone was trying to get into my computer. She wanted me to sit at my computer while she talked me through it, and said she’d stay on the line while I did it. I told her I’d have someone look at it instead. She kept pushing but I just thanked her and said goodbye before hanging up.

A lady called claiming to be from Microsoft, going on about some issue with my computer. I was like, “Which computer exactly?” Then I asked her for her name and address just so I could tell the Police about the scam. Quite the cheek!

I got a call from a woman with an Asian accent, claiming she was from Microsoft. Said my computer had some kind of virus. Pretty sure it was one of those common scams, lots of background noise like a call centre too.

Got a call at 7.44 in the morning from someone claiming to be Microsoft, saying our computer had viruses. Luckily we use a Mac! I told them thanks but asked them not to call back.

Absolutely scams. They pretend to be loads of different places like my phone company, Amazon, or even a TV service. Seriously, just block the number right away because they keep ringing nonstop, even after you tell them to take you off their call list like the law says.

So this person from some Claims Advisory Group rang me up sayin I’ve got illegal charges from my bank and that I’m gonna get a cheque soon. They told me the cheque ref was 1905 1996 and said someone would call back between 11:30 and 12, and when they do, just say you talked to Tony Wayne and confirm that cheque number. Weirdly, they already knew my name, address and postcode. I’m seriously thinkin of blockin this number now coz he also got my date of birth today. Feels like they’re collecting info for a future scam or maybe selling it to others. Really dodgy.
