The message was quite menacing, insisting that I must reach out to her alongside my criminal solicitor, warning that if I didn’t comply, I’d be facing an arrest warrant and severe repercussions. Clearly a scam! I’ve promptly deleted the number and blocked it.

Received a call earlier today, the 21st of January, 2021, at around 9:25. The bloke on the other end claimed to be from HMRC, introducing himself as Dennis Grey, yet he didn’t bother to use my name at all. It’s clearly a dubious operation. I've received this call on two separate occasions from someone claiming to be with HMRC. They told me there was an ongoing tax fraud investigation linked to my name and that I was going to be arrested. The whole thing sounded so believable that it left me in tears! They mentioned the High Court and insisted I needed to pay £998 to avoid any further legal action. The person, who introduced himself as Roman Fletcher and had an Asian accent, claimed to be a High Court officer based in London. He even prompted me to look up the government website, sending me into a complete frenzy. Thankfully, I haven't shared any bank information, but I do feel incredibly foolish for getting so worked up over it. 😥
