I have no clue who’s ringing or what scam they’re trying to pull (why else would they contact so many people?), but it’s definitely not the HM Revenue & Customs. If “David Grey” (like the singer, maybe?) actually wanted to speak, he wouldn’t make me call him back - I picked up the phone when he rang! Also, serious things about tax issues aren’t usually just dumped on you in a random call like that. The tax office mostly sends official letters through the post for all legal reasons, and I haven’t received any of those to back up this call. Total scam, for sure!

Got two calls from this number today, once around 10:30am and then again about 4:15pm. Both times, it was a robotic message with an American accent supposedly from "Officer Dennis Gray" at HMRC. The voicemail warned me to ring their division’s hotline or face legal action if I or my solicitor didn’t respond. The message was really clumsily written, and it’s glaringly obvious it’s a scam. Honestly, it’s so ridiculous it’s almost funny, but I can imagine it scaring people who aren’t aware what these calls really are. Just don’t fall for it - it’s total nonsense!
