I got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, and they were all pushy and scary. They kept insisting I ring them back, warning me I'd be in trouble if I didn’t. Felt really dodgy!

I didn’t pick up as i didn’t recognise the number. There was a recorded msg left, sounded really dodgy with an american accent, like one of those hmrc scam calls. They were warning me about arrest if i didn’t pay up. It came through on my mobile, but then we also got another automated call on our office landline. This second one had a proper british accent but same story, threatening stuff about owing money to hmrc. Surely both are scams, no way they’re legit.

Got a call with someone pretending to be from HMRC, but they had an American accent and used weird phrases. Left me a voicemail saying if I didn’t call back, I’d be in big trouble with the law. When I phoned them back, they started going on about taxes and asked for my age and date of birth. I didn’t share those since I’m retired and don’t pay tax anyway. They said they’d call me again but never did. I’ve told HMRC about the whole thing now.

Got a voicemail from this number saying it was hmrc and warning about legal trouble if I didn’t call back. Totally a scam, don’t fall for it. Just block and ignore!

I picked up the phone but the caller stayed silent and then just ended the call.

Same thing happened to me with HMRC, they just ignore any complaints about the number. Best thing to do is get them to trace the call and then have someone come round to check it out.

Just got a call from someone named Dennis Gray claiming to be from HMRC - sounded really threatening. After a quick search, can see quite a few posts online warning that this scam is making a comeback. Definitely looks dodgy!
