A rather shifty call from someone speaking in a thick Asian accent, if I must say! They were really trying to push a deal on me, but I managed to turn the tables. I’ve heard that Carphone Warehouse has these enticing promotional deals that come with a £30 upfront charge that’s supposedly 'refundable'. When I mentioned to them that it seemed a bit dodgy-like a classic advance fee scam-I was met with some colourful language in what sounded like a South Asian dialect, and it happened not just once, but twice! It left quite the impression, to say the least.
