Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from 02, offering a 40% discount on my bill. As soon as I picked up, I guessed it was dodgy but decided to humour her. I told her my monthly payment was £10, and she kept changing the discounted amount - first £7, then £9. I told her that wasn’t even close to 40%, but she just kept talking, ignoring me. Then she sent me a text with some codes, asking me to read them out for “verification.” I asked why she needed the codes but hadn’t asked for my name or address yet. She kept pushing for the codes but dodged my question. The text said not to share codes over the phone, but when she insisted, I made up random numbers which clearly annoyed her. I told her to shut up, and she hung up. Funny thing is - I’m not even an 02 customer!
