I received a rather dubious call claiming to offer me a 30% discount. Shortly thereafter, I was bombarded with two text messages that seemed to be from O2, proudly displaying "O2 UK" on my screen. The first message was a "SECURITY ALERT," warning me that a verification code had been requested and instructing me to hang up immediately if someone was on the line asking for that code, as they were not representatives of O2. The subsequent text contained that one-time passcode, undoubtedly indicating that the caller was attempting to breach my "My O2 account." They clearly required that passcode to gain access to my details. The caller quickly cut the line when I inquired about her credentials and mentioned confirming her identity through O2’s customer service number, 202. By the way, I must commend O2 for their proactive security measures!

He sent several text messages containing verification codes and then proceeded to request my account information. As I'm not even a customer of O2, it was clear as day that it was a con. I decided to hang up on him right there. He tried to ring me again just before I managed to block his number.

no clue who it was, but got this random txt saying 'you missed a call from me at 12.28 23/sep. this is a free call alert from 02. to stop these alerts dial 901.then press # followed by options and options'. looks like lots of others are getting the same thing judging from the comments. best to consider this fishy and block the caller straight away.

My phone rang and a woman with an Indian accent was talking super quick, like she was reading off a script or something. I couldn't catch a single word, so I asked her to speak slower. After she repeated, I got that she mentioned something about a monthly fee before I just ended the call. Sounds like another scam to me, so I’ve blocked the number.
