Got a call from 0114 3190621, some bloke with an Asian accent trying to get me to go online so he could "fix" my computer security. I humoured him for a while since I wasn’t busy. After a bit, I said I didn’t even own a computer. He then asked why I claimed I had one in the first place. I told him since he was messing about with my time, I’d do the same to his, and then ended the call.

Yesterday at about 1.10 pm I got a call, then today at 7.01 in the morning there was a call but no one spoke. I managed to irritate the Indian bloke from the first call so much that he just hung up on me, which I found quite satisfying. He was trying to assist me with some sort of computer issue.

So, I got a call just yesterday from someone with an Indian accent claiming they could stop my annoying cold calls. They started asking for my bank info, not the account number, and somehow knew my card had expired back in 2019. I refused to share anything. The caller got pretty pushy, so I ended the call. Then they rang me back twice more, each time I hung up after a minute of us both raising our voices. After that, they didn’t call again. Be careful with these sorts of calls!

I’m reaching my wits’ end with this flipping number that keeps ringing me. It’s been happening for a week, usually around the crack of dawn, between 6 and 7 in the morning. I've been receiving calls from this outfit for several weeks now, and it’s becoming quite tiresome as each time I pick up, the line is silent. However, today was different-when I answered, a woman with a distinct foreign accent was on the other end. She claimed to be calling from a telephone preference service based in London, assuring me that this call would put an end to my nuisance calls. What unnerved me was that she had my surname, postcode, house number, and street address, which felt rather invasive. She then proceeded to ask for my first name, to which I responded that if she didn’t already know it, then I certainly wasn’t going to divulge it. Before she could utter another word, I interrupted her, stating that if her company ceased calling me, it would mean one less nuisance call in my life. And just like that, the line went dead on her!

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent claiming to be from the telephone preference service. It’s a scam that’s been going on for years. I read an article about it in the Daily Telegraph, written by Kate Palmer back in September 2015 - called 'On the Suckers’ List?'. Loads of older folks have fallen for it, sadly.

This number has rung me 9 times today, all missed calls which is a bit creepy. Reading through other posts, it seems these calls are supposed to be from folks pretending to work for some sort of telephone preference scheme. Thing is, I only signed up my landline with the official TPS back in November, and the only people I handed my number to were my work, my bank and the official registry. This morning I got a ring from this number but didn’t answer. I managed to find the number thanks to 1471. Looking at other people’s posts, it seems like these callers pretend to be from the TPS. Last night, I also received calls from another number, 01623 270165, claiming the same TPS connection. They seemed to know my name and address, and even mentioned my card supposedly expired in 2017. When they asked for the new expiry date, I refused and hung up. Around 15 minutes later, this number called again, but I ignored it. I’ve since reported everything to Action Fraud.
