Below you’ll find info on how to reach the system the police put in place, making it straightforward for anyone to report all sorts of scam calls, texts, emails, and fraud attempts. I only found out about it after raising the huge amount of scam calls I was receiving with my MP. The scammers would rather keep this quiet. If people don’t start reporting these scams, nothing’s gonna change or get stopped.

Got a call from some solar company, they wanted to know if I owned the house but couldn’t even confirm my name. I told them I’m registered with TPS so they shouldn’t be ringing me up, and then they just cut me off.

Got a call from some guy Alex claiming he's with "solar centre". He goes "So you're the homeowner, right?" I told him, "Mate, you've called me twice already and each time I’ve explained you’ve got the wrong end of the stick." Then he just hung up on me straight away. Strange behaviour if you ask me.

I attempted to ring the number, but it simply dropped the call without any response. The same occurs with 01142 992490. As for the number O1442 992492, when I dial it, I receive an automated message indicating that the number isn’t recognised. This all seems rather dodgy, possibly hinting at a scam or some sort of fraudulent activity.

As soon as my answering machine played "I don't pick up because of nuisance calls," the person on the other end just hung up without saying a word. One less annoying call to deal with!

This isn't the first time I've received a call from this number. I allowed it to ring through to voicemail, and then nothing but silence ensued. On an earlier occasion, I actually answered the call, and the person on the other end was shockingly rude, clearly trying to peddle some sort of scam.

I received a call from a number I didn't recognise. Unfortunately, I wasn't quick enough to pick up before it went to voicemail. Strangely, they didn't leave a message, which tends to make me suspicious of their intentions. It feels a bit iffy!

Some bloke rang up saying it was about solar panels and asked if I owned the place. I said what’s this about, and when he just said because I was the owner… I told him I hadn’t said yes or no and then just ended the call.

Got a call from a bloke, said he was with some Solar Centre out in Dorset, pushing a "great offer" on solar panels. Wanted to know my last name, but when I looked them up online, couldn’t find any trace of the company. Tried ringing the number back but it just went straight to voicemail. Sounded pretty polished, but I’m sure it was a scam.

Got a call from some bloke claiming I could get a discount on my double glazed windows and doors if they were like 10, 15 or 20 years old. If he’d done a bit of homework, he’d know I live in a flat on the top floor, so getting scaffolding set up isn’t just my call - I’d need permission from everyone below me and also the building company that owns the place with over 50 flats. Total scam, this one. Blocked the number and reported it straight away. Don’t waste your time with these muppets.

Usually, I just let the answerphone pick up the phone. If it’s a sketchy call, they’re quick to hang up. If it’s someone legit, they tend to leave a message.

We heard this bloke 'John' again, claiming he's conducting a medical survey. But we instantly realised it’s the same guy who calls over and over about driveways - he said his name’s Joihn. Definitely the same person, just trying different stories.

This awful scam mostly targets older folks, and it was only mentioned in the national news a couple days ago. It got some attention after a few people got scammed out of their life savings. Check out the posts from 26/05, especially about a dozen comments down here, which explain how you can report every scam call you get. If the authorities don’t get a clear picture of how widespread these scams are, nothing will change. So please, do your part and don’t just expect someone else to handle it.

I got a call from a bloke who spoke really well, might’ve been called John, saying he was from some medical alert company. He offered me a “free” service but wanted to know if I was older than 50 first. Sounds a bit dodgy to me, like it’s probably a scam.

Just a couple of comments below this one explain how you can actually report these scam calls. Honestly, reporting is the only thing that might help reduce them. Most people don’t bother, so these calls keep flooding in without any real action. The police seem clueless about where these calls are coming from, and the phone companies couldn’t care less unless the government steps in and makes them. And don’t think blocking the numbers will work - as those comments point out, the scammer just switches to a new number and carries on.

I answered the call but kept quiet, so they never got the chance to switch over to a spammer. The call just dropped on its own. Feeling a bit cheeky, I tried ringing the number again - turns out it’s not even in service. What a shocker!

Got a cold call from some bloke with an English accent, offering a free medical pendant. Every time I asked something like "why?", there was this weird pause like someone up top or some sort of AI was feeding him the replies. Felt a bit off, like they weren’t speaking on their own.

Whenever I haven't got a pen and paper handy, I tend to text myself from my work phone to make sure I remember important stuff. That way, the message pops up on my phone as a missed call and the text sticks around too.

Got a call earlier from a different number, something about “driveway planning” or whatever. Before that, a Liverpool number kept ringing me for the same job. Blocked them both now, can't be bothered with it.
