I got a call from Mark, but I let the answerphone pick it up at first. They were making strange, distressing breathing sounds so I decided to pick up, thinking it might be someone I know. He started asking questions that were simple to say 'yes' to. He already knew my name and where I live. Most of the questions were about my landline phone usage. I told him I’m on the TPS (Do Not Call list), but he kept going on until I repeated it and then he just ended the call.

This bloke rang me, said his name was Mark and he worked for Price Comparison Ltd, promising to find me a better deal for my phone plan. I had a quick look at Companies House and noticed they were seriously behind on their accounts. When I told him this, he claimed he’d just joined the company. I told him maybe he should think about changing careers. I said I’ll find cheaper deals myself and save the commission, then ended the call. He mentioned he was calling from Luton.
