He was really pushy, kept going for about 14 minutes. At one point he tried to get his manager on the line to make it sound legit, but I wasn’t buying it. Eventually, when I called him out as a scammer, he just hung up. No surprise there.

This number rang me early this morning around 8:10. I usually don’t pick up calls from unknown numbers - if it’s anything important, they’ll leave a voicemail, which hardly ever happens. The Postcode Lottery does call, but if you get that call, you should ask the caller for your full ticket number, player reference and the date of your first draw. They should give you all that info, so you can be sure it’s legit and not some scammer. I’ve never been lucky enough to win or get one of those calls, but I got this advice straight from their official site.

I got a call asking for a Mr Johnson, who I've never heard of, so definitely not me. We get loads of calls meant for Johnsons, seems like our number’s been passed around to scammers. This one was different - the guy sounded English but hung up straight away when I said I wasn’t him. Turned out to be some postcode lottery scam. Got a call about some post code lottery, sounded off so I just ended the call.

They called me claiming I’d won some kind of postcode lottery, but I told them I don’t take part and they just ended the call. Definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Total scam! They were going on about some PostCode Lottery nonsense. Such rubbish!

Got a call telling me I’d won a gift card and it’d be posted to me. When I mentioned I usually get these things by email, they just cut me off right away. Definitely seems like some kind of scam to me.

I received a rather intriguing call from someone sporting a rather strong foreign accent, claiming that our household had been selected for a discount card from the Post Code Lottery - apparently, it would arrive within three days. I kindly informed her that we had no interest in the offer.

What a nuisance! They couldn't even pronounce my name correctly and refused to state who they were. In the end, I just cut the call.

I received a call from this number claiming that I had been selected for vouchers that could be used at any major supermarket for a whole year, worth a staggering £1,000! On top of that, they mentioned a holiday for four people to an overseas location, also valid for a year. The caller, a lady with a distinctly Asian accent, was rather insistent about needing my bank account details and sort code for 'security purposes.' I felt quite uncomfortable with her aggressive approach.

Claimed I had some sort of prize of 3,000 ppi and insisted that in order to claim it, I'd have to provide my bank details and sort code. I promptly told him that wasn’t happening... and then he just cut off!

Received a call claiming I had £3500 in PPI, supposedly from Black Horse Finance. The caller requested my postcode but didn’t bother with my house number, which I found odd. Then he wanted my account number and sort code-no way was I giving that out! He was quite insistent, suggesting I didn't care about the £3500. I decided to end the conversation and hung up rather abruptly.

Got a call from someone about the Postcode Lottery, sounded like a total scam to me.

Got a missed call from a Leeds number again, second time in just three days. They didn’t leave any voicemail. I don’t have any contacts in Leeds, so it felt a bit suspicious. From what I’ve read here before, these calls often come from scammers. Their stories seem to change - one time it’s about heating grants, another about some postcode lottery. Makes me think you really have to watch out for these sorts of calls.
