Got a weird phone call from someone saying he was Tom. He told us the roof insulation we supposedly got done not long ago is making the roof damp. Thing is, we never had any insulation done recently - kinda spooky how he knows that! My missus answered and just brushed him off nicely, which is unusual cos she normally bites the head off anyone ringing with dodgy offers. Must’ve been one of those rare calm days.

A chap rang me up, insisting he was from my neighbourhood and proposing to change my loft insulation. Complete and utter nonsense, if you ask me! Every time I tried to question him, he dodged my queries like a pro. I ended up telling him to pipe down multiple times, but he was having none of it. Eventually, I had to let him know to take a hike in a way he couldn’t misinterpret. I finally hung up on him. He claimed to be calling from South West London, yet the number clearly shows it’s from Leeds! Quite the dodgy character.
