Got a call from someone saying they were from the Pension Department, asking about my pension. As soon as I told them I’m already receiving one, they promptly ended the call without so much as a sorry or a goodbye. Pretty rude if you ask me. Just tell them straight up you’re already on a pension - they have no way of checking and usually just hang up. It’s a dead giveaway that they’re shady. The number was 01133201829, supposedly from UK Pensions. (Hope I spelled banker right or something lol!)

Got a call from 0113 320 1829, some woman saying she was from the pensions department. She kept asking if I had a pension and how much it was worth. When I pressed her for her name and where exactly she worked, all she said was “pensions department” over and over. I asked her to send me proof by email but she wouldn't. Then I asked for a letter to be posted to me and she said they didn’t have my address on file. Told her it sounded like a total scam to me. Surely a proper government dept would know my details and wouldn't refuse to verify themselves or offer other options. Lucky I didn’t give any info. There was no name given, just “pensions department”.
