I accidentally played a dodgy voicemail yesterday and ended up getting charged £25 - what a rookie mistake. After that, I was flooded with calls from numbers all starting with the same first 11 digits, but the last 4 would change - like 6829, then 8777, and 8778. Seems like the same gang behind it all, and I found loads of others complaining about these numbers too. I didn’t answer and blocked each one, but I reckon they’ll just try again with slightly different endings. I’m with BT and noticed plenty of other BT users reporting the same thing. Watch out for these!

Since last night around 10pm, this number has rung me about 8 times. I made the mistake of calling it back once, and in just 15 seconds I got charged £7.66! Seriously, don’t return calls from this or anything like it or you’ll be stung with the same expensive fee every time.

Got calls three times late at night from +8821622776825, some number from Taiwan while on Three network. They left a voicemail and then I noticed a £6.99 charge on my bill. When I played the message, it was obviously a scam. Don’t bother with this number, it’s just a waste of money. Even if you block one, they call back from a slightly different number, like one digit changed at the end. Total pain!

This is just bonkers! Since early yesterday, I've been getting calls constantly from loads of nearly identical numbers. It's 7am already the next day and I’ve had two more calls today alone. I’ve been trying to block each one, but foolishly called one back real quick thinking it might be urgent - ended up with a £7.99 charge! Seriously, just block the numbers and don't pick up!

This number hit me with a £17 charge! There's a similar one too, but the last four digits end in 8777. Whatever you do, don’t ring it - they’ll charge you. I was only half awake and assumed it was my family calling. I caught some bloke chatting about iPhones and stuff. So, are you lot all using iPhones then?

Was trying to block this number and accidentally called it for a moment, and then noticed today I got hit with a £15 charge. Got in touch with BT about it, and they’re looking into it since loads of people have reported this scam.

I got a call from +8821622776825 and tried ringing back, but the call only lasted a few seconds. Then I noticed a £7.99 charge on my bill. Since then, they've phoned me twice more within the hour. Seriously, just block this number and don’t bother returning their calls - it’s definitely a scam!

The +882 code isn't linked to any specific nation, which is pretty handy. I've had four calls from it already. I've blocked them, but fingers crossed 3network won't bill me for those.

Been getting calls from this number since about 9:49pm and now its nearly 10:45pm, they keep ringing me every 10 mins sharp. Thought maybe it was some scam about car accidents or insurance, so I finally picked up to tell em to cut it out. All I heard was like a helicopter noise or something out of a horror flick for a few seconds before the line went dead. Weirdest call ever.

I reckon anyone getting calls from this number today probably has phone numbers that are quite alike. Ofcom gives providers chunks of numbers, usually blocks of 100,000. There’s about 8,000 of these blocks ranging from 071000xxxxx up to 075999xxxxx and then 077000xxxxx through 079999xxxxx. Even if scammers dialled at a rate of ten calls every second, it’d still take them over three hours to hit every number within one 100,000 block. After finishing one, they just shift their focus onto the next batch.

I've had my fair share of those dodgy calls as well. To be honest, I never pick up. The moment I spot that number, I promptly add it to my blocked list. It’s clearly a case of vishing at play, which is essentially a sneaky voice phishing tactic employed by scammers to fish for personal details that they can misuse.
