Dont bother calling back! It’s a total SCAM! My sons phone got loads of calls from this and alike numbers. I tried ringing one back just to find out who they were (and maybe give them a piece of my mind). The phone never rang and no one picked up, yet I got hit with a £1.50 charge for just 7 seconds. Just block these numbers asap.

So, got a call from this number yesterday, just rang once and I didn't bother calling back. Then today, a very similar number called me, shorter but begins with the same first 5 digits. They’re not after you picking up, they want you to ring them back so they can rip you off. Stay clear and don't ring them back!

Since 03.05.2018, this number and 00882 16 9013 20 keep ringing me twice daily, usually around 07:35-08:35 and again 21:05-21:35. At first, the calls showed as private, but yesterday the numbers started showing. I never pick up and they hang up within a few seconds. Blocking +882 16 range seems to help. Try NoPhoneSpam app from F-Droid or Google Play, it works for me.

I’ve had weird calls and calls that just cut out from that number too. My network, O2 / Telefónica UK, hasn’t given me any info so far but from what I’ve seen before, sometimes providers or apps that need you to confirm stuff via text (like WhatsApp maybe?) let your details get shared with third parties who aren’t always legit or following data protection rules.
