Got a call earlier from someone claiming to be Amazon, saying a phone worth over £1000 was bought on my account and I needed to press 1 to cancel it. Of course, I just ended the call straight away. The number came up as 0055.

Got a call from 0055 09429872 early this morning at about 7am. The woman on the line had a noticeable accent and claimed she was from my "call blocking service" which she said was expiring today and needed renewing. Surprisingly, she mentioned I pay my phone bill by direct debit, even though I never gave her any info or confirmed my name. She then tried to say she had to transfer me to her manager to sort the renewal. I told her to forget it and asked what kind of business calls people at 7 in the morning for this. She just hung up on me after that.

Someone said they were from British Telecom and asked for my personal details. I double-checked with BT and they confirmed it was a scam. The number was 0055 56789.

They called me a couple times claiming to be my online tech support, asking if I'd got an email from them. When I asked where exactly they were calling from, she just kept repeating herself. Then she wanted to speak to my husband who apparently is the email address. I told her to give me a number so he could ring back when free, but she just hung up. Sounded quite unfriendly. I did a 1471 and the line showed 0055.

Got a call from 1471 and answered it. Some lady with an English accent spoke to me. When I asked who it was, she said it was a Santander branch. Doesn't seem like a call from Brazil or anywhere dodgy but I guess I’ll see when my bill arrives ??

Back in Dec 2017, I got a call at 7:30 in the morning from the number 0055 442036945515. I think the code is for Brazil. I answered but there was no noise, so I just ended the call.

Got several calls from 0055122322, ringing me at really odd times. It sounds like a call centre or something. They just cut off as soon as I pick up. Feels like they want you to call them back out of curiosity.

Had the exact same call as the one mentioned on June 15th, even with the wrong postcode asking me to verify details. I told the person I'd ring them back. Definitely a scam.

They keep saying they’re from BT accounts - ringing me over 6 times a day. When I ask for a number to confirm who they are, they get quite pushy. They also try and trick you by giving you a wrong postcode, hoping you’ll correct it and spill your proper details. Total scam, avoid them.

Got a call from 0055 21915884477 around 10.15 today. No one spoke and then the call just dropped. I think 0055 is Brazil’s country code, so this has all the hallmarks of a scam call.
