Lately, I've been receiving between one and seven calls daily from numbers beginning with 0044. Sometimes, these numbers also appear on my Caller ID as starting with the local area code 01379. When I answer, there's nobody on the other end. If I let it ring out, after a few rings it just cuts off, and then I hear what seems like a busy signal. It's been quite puzzling!

Got a call from +44 7490 095594, some dodgy person pretending to be a mate, saying they were popping over to London for a couple days. Complete scam, watch out!

I'm getting really fed up with these calls coming through! I usually just ignore them and bin the number, but sometimes I get worried it could be something important, like the hospital trying to reach me or a mate whose number I haven't saved. It’s a right nuisance!

Totally a scammer. Got a call saying I’d won 4 lucky dips from the national lottery. I used to play online but had my account hacked, so can’t play now. This bloke just wanted my address. Then another one pretended to be a bailiff saying I hadn’t paid a bill. There’s loads of these scams about now, even got an email from a “lottery” asking to verify my info. I’m too old for all this nonsense, had a crime ref once when my 3 Facebook accounts got hacked then they went after my outlook too. Proper nasty people. This number 044 7578 463446 is constantly calling my Aussie phone no matter what time it is. Whenever I pick up, I only get some recorded voice saying they’re busy and to leave a msg - super frustrating. The moment I end the call, they ring straight back, nonstop until I finally answer. I’ve tried blocking them but somehow they manage to get through again and keep ringing. I've even reported them to the police hoping they'll take action and make it stop.
