I got a call from a bloke with a really thick accent. He claimed to be calling from some kind of anti-spam team linked to TPS, said he worked near Gloucester Road in Central London. Asked if I was still getting those annoying calls. I told him his call was annoying enough and promptly ended the call.

For weeks, we kept getting these dead silent calls, usually from numbers beginning with 00 or just no caller ID at all. Then out of nowhere, this bloke with a dodgy accent calling from 003093 rang up and claimed I was the one getting annoying silent calls. Told him the only nuisance calls I'd had were from him, and he ended up swearing at me before hanging up. I doubt he's gonna get very far with that sort of con artist nonsense.

A person rang up saying they were from some call prevention team. They kept asking for my bank card expiry date, which sounded dodgy from the start. Even after I said I knew it was a scam, they wouldn’t let it go. I’m not sure what they hoped to get from me. They just carried on pestering until I finally hung up.

During my lunch break, I received a phone call claiming to be from the Government data protection agency. They informed me that they could help me block unwanted calls from overseas, which was indeed a concern of mine. Surprisingly, they had all my personal information like my name, telephone number (obviously), and even my address with the post code. However, when they started asking about my debit card details, I became suspicious and decided to end the call immediately.

Today I got four calls from what seemed like Indian call centres. One was trying to sell me a service to block nuisance calls, and another said someone linked to my phone number was involved in a crash claim. I just ended the call on the other two. I frequently receive nuisance calls that are quite irritating. The usual pattern is as follows: when I answer the call, I simply say my telephone number as a way of greeting. However, after that, there is a brief moment of silence, about a second long. Eventually, the caller hangs up abruptly, leaving me with a dead line. Strangely, I never get to hear anything the caller has to say. This bothersome call has been happening to me multiple times every week for over a year now.

Received a phone call earlier today. It took a few seconds for the call to connect, but the woman on the other end claimed to be from London. Despite her Indian accent, she assured me that she could assist in putting an end to unwanted phone calls to my home number. She requested me to verify my name, which took her by surprise as she was already aware of it. However, I decided to terminate the call before proceeding any further.

I've received a couple of calls from this number, but I let my answering machine deal with them. No messages were ever left behind. In my search to uncover more about this, I discovered that the number hails from Greece. Apparently, they've been telling people they're from Microsoft and somehow tricking unsuspecting victims into allowing remote access to their computers. It's quite alarming-one individual ended up losing thousands of pounds! So, be cautious, everyone! It's best to avoid any conversation with them. x

Beware of fraudulent individuals who pose as Microsoft technicians to deceive you into revealing password information by remotely accessing your computer. It is crucial not to provide any personal information to these scammers. Remember that Microsoft will never contact you regarding any issues. As someone who works in IT Security, I am familiar with many of these scams, which predominantly originate from China, Eastern Europe, and Asia. The best course of action is to simply hang up and block the number, although they may change their number format over time. Additionally, make sure to inform your phone network provider about these fraudulent activities.
