For weeks, we kept getting these dead silent calls, usually from numbers beginning with 00 or just no caller ID at all. Then out of nowhere, this bloke with a dodgy accent calling from 003093 rang up and claimed I was the one getting annoying silent calls. Told him the only nuisance calls I'd had were from him, and he ended up swearing at me before hanging up. I doubt he's gonna get very far with that sort of con artist nonsense.

A person rang up saying they were from some call prevention team. They kept asking for my bank card expiry date, which sounded dodgy from the start. Even after I said I knew it was a scam, they wouldn’t let it go. I’m not sure what they hoped to get from me. They just carried on pestering until I finally hung up.

Was having lunch when the phone rang. The person said they worked for some Government data protection dept or something like that. They pushed this service to block dodgy calls from abroad, which is exactly what they were doing! They already had my name, phone number (fair enough) and even my address and postcode. As soon as they asked for my debit card info, I just put the phone down.

Total scam. Someone called pretending to be from Microsoft support, trying to get remote access to my computer to steal passwords. Absolutely don't hand over any details to these jokers. Microsoft never phones you out of the blue about problems. I’m in IT Security so I know these scams all too well. Most calls like this come from places like China, Eastern Europe or parts of Asia. Best thing to do is just hang up and block the number. That might stop them for a bit until they switch numbers again. Also, make sure you report these calls to your phone provider as well.
