What sort of number is 003009 even? I got a call from them and it turns out they’re just trying to scam you. They’re after your info so they can hack into your computer, lock you out, then demand cash to unlock it again. Watch out for these fraudsters!

Just got a call from some scammer telling me my PC's got viruses. Don’t fall for it, just end the call straight away.

Just like the other comments, I had a similar experience with "Microsoft." When I requested a phone number, they provided me with 10002470800. However, instead of receiving assistance, the call took an alarming turn. The representative became hostile, making explicit threats towards me and my family. This abusive behaviour escalated even further as I was passed around to other individuals at their call centre who also joined in on the abuse. It's concerning how they continue to engage in such misconduct without facing any consequences.

To understand their scam tactics, I decided to listen to one of their calls for about 20 minutes. During the call, they guided me to a website that allows remote access to my computer. Although legitimate companies use this site too, it's not something you want them to have access to in this case. Unfortunately, my mother fell for their tricks initially, but she quickly realized something was wrong when she saw the cursor moving on her screen. She promptly shut everything down, and luckily, no harm was done. However, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. My mother is in her late 70s and tends to be too trusting. Nonetheless, I reminded her that she is still quite sharp and needs to be more cautious in the future. When I firmly expressed my disapproval and hung up the phone, they immediately called back twice, persistently attempting to speak with me.

After claiming he was affiliated with Microsoft, he accused me of lying when I mentioned not owning a Windows computer. Now I receive a call from that same number every day. I've started adopting a tactic of remaining silent upon answering the call, which results in them concluding the conversation shortly after. As a possible solution, I am contemplating switching to a phone that incorporates caller ID features.

I received a call saying that the person on the other end was trying to reach my late husband, who passed away four years ago! I firmly told him to go away and he ended the call abruptly. The call came in at 8am, far too early for my liking. Can you honestly believe that anyone actually falls for this kind of scam?

I received a phone call from a person claiming to be from Microsoft, who urgently mentioned that they needed to repair my computer at no cost. However, after wasting ten minutes of their valuable time, I finally informed them that I use an Apple Mac instead. These scammers deserve a severe punishment of forty lashes for their deceitful actions.

I received a call at 8:34 am, but there was no response. The person on the other end just said "goodbye" in a peculiar accent. When I dialed 1471 to check the caller's number, it displayed as 003009. It seems highly unusual, and I believe we should have more control over this kind of call.
