He insisted he wasn’t trying to sell me anything and that if I just answered a couple of quick questions, he’d take my number off his list. One was about whether I read newspapers, then he asked my age range. I didn’t bother answering and told him to just remove my number without needing me to say anything. He carried on chatting, so I just ended the call.
