My mum got a call from a very impolite young woman on 020 3457 4176, who kept bombarding her with questions to verify her info. She never said which company she represented and ended up spelling it out in a really sarcastic way. The lady was awful on the phone and ignored all the objections my mum raised. When I took the phone and asked what the call was about, she just kept talking over me. I requested them to delete our info, but the caller just suddenly hung up.

Don’t get frustrated, why not have a bit of fun and pretend your name’s something daft like “Hugh Jass” when they call? Then say you’re happy they rang and ask if they can call you back on your new number. When they say “what’s the number?” start trying to count up to 100! I only made it as far as 18 before they gave up, but my mate got to about 33 before it ended. Proper funny way to waste their time. Or you could just hang up straight away so they waste time calling others, sparing them from the scam. That’s my tip, really saves people from those dodgy calls.

Some bloke with a heavy foreign accent kept rambling stuff I couldn’t make out. I had no patience for it and just ended the call. After seeing what others have said, I’m definitely putting this number on my block list.

They often kick off with something like "Good afternoon, is this Mrs ............... in the house?" but they never manage to say my name correctly! I usually just say "Sorry, you've got the wrong number" and put the phone down. Honestly, it’s getting beyond frustrating now. They ring me a few times every week, which is pretty annoying. Tonight, they even called me twice around 7:45 pm. Really frustrating!

I keep getting bombarded with calls from this number, and when I finally did pick up, there was an awkward pause before anyone said a word. They continually ask for someone named Mr. Rawlings, which isn’t even my name! The voice had a distinctly Indian accent. Got a call earlier from a bloke working in some busy call centre who said he was from Verso. He claimed they were just updating info for my area’s postcode (which he couldn’t even give me). I asked why his firm needed to update my info in their system, but he never really explained why. Then, out of nowhere, he just cut me off and hung up! Pretty irritating, especially since he didn’t let me get a word in first!

I receive phone calls, but I choose to ignore them. In my view, if the number is important and relevant to my life, they will leave a voicemail. Some efforts are being made to prevent companies from hiding their numbers, but regardless, I ignore any calls from unfamiliar sources.

They ring me every day, usually I just let it go to voicemail since I don’t recognise the number. But today I actually picked up. It was a woman with an Indian accent, sounded like she was working in a hectic call centre. She claimed to be from Verso and wanted to ask me some questions. I told her to take me off their calling list and then she just ended the call.
