I’ve been inundated with calls from these folks, ringing me daily at the most inconvenient times - primarily around lunch and during dinner! Generally, I avoid answering numbers I don’t recognise, but the one time I did pick up, I was met with a nearly unintelligible Asian accent, claiming they weren’t trying to sell me anything but were instead conducting a survey. I swiftly hung up. Thankfully, I've devised a method on my mobile to manage these nuisance calls. I've created a contact labelled "BUGGER OFF" and add any undesired numbers to it, setting the contact to automatically block all calls that come through. This approach has really helped in reducing those pesky interruptions.

On the evening of 18th March 2016 at around 7:30 PM, I received a call from the number mentioned. Upon answering, I was met with silence, save for a jumble of voices in what sounded like a bustling office environment. I could distinctly hear the clatter of chairs and snippets of telephone conversations in the background. It was quite baffling!

I keep getting these phone calls where they insist on addressing me as Mrs Adams, even though I’m not an Adams at all! They even mentioned an address that has nothing to do with me. To top it all off, they kept insisting I was aged between 35 and 45 when I’m actually only 24! It was all rather silly and quite infuriating!

What struck me as particularly troubling was her request to speak to someone in our postcode; it left me wondering what their purpose truly is. Losing my son at just 37 was a devastating blow, and the lack of sensitivity in her approach was astonishing. Has she no idea of the hurt her words can cause? It’s baffling to think that someone could be so callous in their job. These "people" find pleasure in troubling bereaved families, which is quite frankly, appalling. They should really reconsider their roles if this is how they conduct themselves.

Just got a ring from this number, they claimed to be from something like Virso or Verso? They already knew my full name and postcode which was a bit creepy, then started asking for personal details. This number kept calling me nonstop for weeks, so I finally answered to find out who was behind it. The woman on the line spoke so fast and mumbling I couldn’t really catch what she was saying, but I think she mentioned something like ‘Verso’ or ‘Virso’. She somehow had my address and then asked me to verify my age group, saying she needed to make sure she wasn’t speaking to a minor. I wasn’t having any of that and flat out refused. Honestly, I had no clue what her endgame was - every time I tried to speak, she just raised her voice and sped up her talking till I couldn’t get a word in. On my landline, however, it’s been blissful silence since I invested £60 in a new set of BT phones featuring the call guardian option. Truly, it's been worth every penny-finally, a bit of peace!

Got a call recently from someone who said something like 'Virso' but it wasn't very clear. He seemed to be asking about the most popular product around my neighbourhood. Oh dear, fellow versophiles! My cheeky little strategy when these callers ring me up is to feign interest and then ask them to hang tight while I supposedly "take the dog out." I make a right meal of it, stretching out the time as much as possible, throwing in the occasional “I’ll only be a moment” every minute while I’m tucked away in my wardrobe. A rather twisted sense of humour, if I say so myself! My personal best is a whopping 16 minutes. One can only hope that if they’re tying me up on the phone, someone else might get some quiet time!
