Got a call from someone saying they were from the Australian NBN, but as soon as I questioned them, they hung up straight away. I blocked the number quickly after. From what I know, the NBN doesn’t contact homes or businesses directly - they only deal with service providers, so seemed fishy to me.

Lately, I've been getting loads of calls all day from numbers starting with 00116, like 00116427318124. They never bother to leave a voicemail or anything. A few times when my phone's been just next to me, I've answered to catch whoever it is, but they’re always silent on the other end. Pretty sure it's some kind of scam, and honestly, I have no clue how to block them for good.

Got a call from 00116 5852 707337 at my place in Queensland around 1pm. The guy didn’t give his name, sounded like he had an Asian accent. He claimed to be from Telmet, calling on behalf of Australian Telstra, trying to offer me some sort of discount. Asked me my name, I told him he should know since he rang me. Then he went on asking if I was Mr "myname". I just told him again he called me. He said he needed to ask some questions to confirm who I was, asked for my first name. I wasn’t interested and told him bye before hanging up.

00116463744644 rang me loads of times but I never picked up. After reading the reviews, it really creeps me out. Showed up as New York, but I don’t know a single soul there! My brother-in-law got calls on his landline from some bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be Jason from BT’s technical team (yeah right). You can hear busy office noises in the background too. We don’t even have BT! Proper fed up with these scam calls.

Claimed to be TalkTalk from 0011632806000. Woman speaking with a strong Asian accent and loads of background noise, probably to fake a call centre vibe. Said there was an issue with my router and then wanted me to log into my computer (as if!). I asked her what exactly my router was meant to be doing and which model I had. She just kept going over the same stuff and sounded really daft - just like I thought from these idiots! Watch out and stay careful!

I usually just ignore calls from unfamiliar numbers, especially if they're from abroad or hidden. Almost got tricked by 00116 1254862 since it looked like a normal UK 0116 code. Really hope BT takes more steps to block these scam calls before they even ring us.

got a call once and they asked for the owner. i told them he wasn't here right now, sorry. then they asked for my name and i said i don't give that info out, then ended the call. he called back a couple of times saying i had a lovely voice and asked why i hung up. i kept hanging up on him when he called again.

Got a call from a 00116 number, the bloke was asking for the business owner. I told him she wasn’t around and then he started asking how old I was. I said 16, and next thing he wants to meet up. I was like nah mate, won’t happen and just put him on speaker and left it. Proper weird!

Got a call from someone with a heavy asian accent, mumbling something about electricity, but couldn’t make out a word. He asked who my electricity provider was, so I asked why it mattered to him. He kept insisting I tell him, so I told him to buzz off. Then he called back, calling me all sorts of rude names - proper tosser. Really fed up with these lot.

Got a horrible call from some people claiming my husband had been in a fatal car accident. Really upsetting and felt like a total scam.
