He said he was ringing about some privacy settings on my computer. I told him straight up that he was just trying to scam people and to never call me again. After that, I ended the call.

What a dodgy scam this one is. They act like they know who you are (which they usually just find from a phone book), claim to know your Windows system (which isn't true, especially if you have a few computers!) and say your machine is infected. Trust me, if you let them access your computer, it will end up compromised and your info nicked!

I actually asked this Indian guy if his faith encourages cheating, lying and stealing...

This number keeps ringing me but when I answer, they just cut the call right away. So frustrating!

Got a call from someone moaning about my PC supposedly sending error reports to Microsoft. Thing is, the computer's been switched off for weeks, so I thought it was dodgy and ended the call straight away.

the caller claiming to be from a pharmacy probably just gave the name of a nearby one since most folks go to their local pharmacy. I really don't think they had any real info about your prescriptions.

Got a call from this number from someone saying his name was Robert Williams. He claimed to be calling from an Rx Pharmacy and asked what medications I was taking to ‘verify’ them. Immediately knew it was dodgy since the phone ID showed something off - classic scam, I reckon. Reported it to the actual pharmacy, the cops, and also told the fraud centre about it. Turns out the call was coming all the way from Pakistan - the bloke actually slipped up and mentioned where he was from when I gave him a right telling off. Managed to record the whole chat...now just trying to find the file so I can share it here.

I got about 14 calls today and each time they just hung up right before I could pick up.

Sounds like one of those classic scam calls where they say your computer’s seriously messed up, and the person on the phone pretends they wanna sort it out for ya.

Got a call from a bloke with a Pakistani accent asking to access my computer, then he rang again offering half price on prescription meds. He was pretty rude, even swearing at me and my hubby. Watch out for this one!

I've gotten calls from someone named "Carl" and a few others using names like "Windows Space" or "Ask PC-expert" - all supposedly from different companies. The initial time, I actually paid some attention but never let him remotely connect to my PC. After that, I was pretty direct and told him to buzz off. It’s definitely the same bloke each time, and he speaks with a pretty clear Indian or Pakistani accent.

As soon as my voicemail started, they just ended the call.

Got a call from this number a little while ago. The bloke said his name was Dylan and claimed my computer was having issues that needed sorting right away. I asked for his middle name and joked that his mum surely didn’t imagine he’d end up scamming folks or being a fraud whizz. Then I offered to say the Lord’s Prayer for him, and before I could start, he just hung up.

There's this one guy, sounds like he's from Pakistan, who rings me up every morning at 8 and then again around 9 at night. I was polite at first, asked him nicely if he'd stop calling, but now I just shout at him and hang up whenever he wakes me up. It's driving me crazy, anyone got tips on how to make it end?

I got a call from someone saying they've had computer issues coming from our side last week. When I told them we don't even have internet here, they just ended the call straight away.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he’s from Windows about my PC. I told him I’d ring back later. He gave me his number, so I tried calling it, but it turns out the number’s temporarily out of service.

Does anyone have any idea how to block these annoying calls? Ive told them loads of times to remove me from their list but it only halts for a few months then they start ringing again. I’m looking for an address so I can send a letter from my solicitor... I believe once they get a formal written warning, if they keep bothering you, you might be able to sue them for harassment.

Last night I got a phone call from someone claiming to be Ask PC Expert, and it’s actually the second time they’ve rung me. They seemed quite believable at first, but when they asked me to go to support.me, I looked it up and found out it’s a scam. Once I mentioned this to them, they gave me the number you see above to call them back and prove their identity. Honestly, the only way I finally got them off the line was by saying I’d get back to them later.

Now, I got a ring from this firm named ask pc expert. They were wanting me to let them get into my computer to fix some virus they said I had. Honestly, it all seemed a bit dodgy to me, but I wasn't entirely sure if it was a con or not.
