I keep receiving calls from various numbers recently, all claiming to be from some law office connected to this phone number. They insist there's a legal case against me and that they must deliver some documents, but they want to confirm someone with ID is present at my place. This nonsense has been happening for more than 4 years. At one point, they were phoning me up to 4 times daily, then stopped for a while, but now it’s all started up again using a new number.

Somebody rang me claiming it had to do with a lawsuit or something, but they wouldn't spill any details about the 'case' unless I gave them my social security number. Felt like a total scam to me...

I got a call at work supposedly about some legal issue, threatening me with a subpoena. Honestly, I reckon these fraudsters have come up with a fresh trick to freak us out and trick us into handing over our social security details. Usually, the stuff you find online doesn’t even show the last four digits of your social number. Then they tell you they need it to “unlock” your account and give you important info. Just give them a made-up four digits and see how they respond. If they suddenly agree and spill the info, it’s a dead giveaway they’re scammers.

Got a call from this number saying there’s some kind of complaint against my husband. They only gave me a case ID and another number to ring back. Really frustrating.

I rang my wife’s office and left both the phone number and a case number. When I called back, the response was far from professional - sounded more like a home answering machine saying nobody was in and to leave a message.

Got a call from this number, it showed up as UPS on my caller ID. The person said something about me having a subpoena to be served, or that maybe I'd already been served, and asked if I knew there was a complaint against me. They gave me a phone number and a case number to contact for more info. When I questioned the UPS ID, they said they were a different company that just happened to share the same initials. Then they ended the call pretty fast. What’s going on here???
