They claim there’s a legal case lodged against me and they require to deliver documents in person, insisting that someone with identification must be at home. This has been a nuisance for over four years now! Initially, they would ring me up to four times daily, then it quietened down, only for them to resume calling again, now using a different number altogether.

It struck me that these con artists have come up with an ingenious ploy to intimidate folks into divulging their Social Security numbers. Most of the data kicking about online doesn't reveal the last four digits of our social, so they cunningly insist that to access your account and provide you with the necessary details, they require that information. I'd recommend throwing them off by supplying a bogus number - let them deal with that! If they suddenly agree and proceed to hand over the info, it's a clear indicator that they are indeed fraudsters.
