11 yearsI keep getting calls from this unknown number every single day. The person said his name was Joseph Pickerton this time. He rang my mobile and left a message telling me I needed to be at home between 12 and 1 because he had some documents for me to sign. If I wasn’t there, he said he’d go ahead and file them anyway without my signature, supposedly on my behalf. He claimed to be some kind of courier but didn’t mention any company name, just left the number 844 816 4679. Naturally, I didn’t call back since I had no idea what this was about. I’ve not received any court letters or anything through the post. Got suspicious and googled the number, turns out it’s a scam. I’m really curious about which company he’s supposedly from. He never gave any filer ID or explained why these papers were being filed for me. Honestly, these constant calls are driving me mad. I rang the number back, told them I was calling from Creekside Recovery, and made it clear this was a place of work, we don’t deal with debt collectors, and they should never call here again. I also warned I’d report them to the police and the relevant authority for trying to get personal info illegally. If they were actually a legit debt collector, why would they want two forms of photo ID and a witness instead of just collecting the debt?
