I reached out to the Canadian anti-fraud centre, and they've confirmed it's all a scam! No need to worry, the police won't be knocking on your door, and there won't be any legal actions taken - it's merely a tactic to frighten you into revealing your personal details. Just ignore it completely, that’s the best course of action. The service in Canada has made it quite clear: there's no debt to pay; it's just a fraudulent scheme, plain and simple.
