I just received a voicemail from this number saying I needed to call them back right away or the CRA would take legal steps and freeze my bank accounts and stuff. They never even said my name once. I’m all clear with my CRA payments, so I’m pretty sure it’s a scam trying to scare me.

If you get a call from this number, I’d seriously advise you not to share anything personal. The person who rang me seemed really dodgy and kept asking for my name but never explained why they were calling. It felt like they were probing for info and it made me quite uncomfortable. Best to just hang up straight away.

This number rang me and the person said he was Tony Foster, some sort of social security agent with badge number 15190, referencing case 3W23996. He threatened that the CRA would freeze my accounts and take legal action unless I paid immediately, like within 45 minutes. I told him I'd have my accountant get in touch instead because I just got a letter from CRA confirming everything's fine. He insisted I call back, but I stood my ground and then he just hung up on me.

Got a call from someone saying they were with the Canada Revenue Service and that I supposedly owed more than a grand in unpaid taxes. They even claimed there was a warrant out for my arrest. I told them my taxes were all fine and if they wanted, they could send the police round.
