He introduced himself as a computer technician from a company called PapaDirect, insisting that my Windows laptop was dispatching error alerts. The thing is, I don’t even have a subscription with them, which immediately raised my suspicions. I requested his name, the name of his company, and a contact number to check his legitimacy. He stated he was “Jay Cooper” from PapaDirect and gave me a phone number that didn’t match what was saved in my iPhone.
