I decided to Google the number and came across this website. Didn’t even bother to use our names, just kept saying “YOU”. He claimed there’s a legal petition out for tax evasion and fraud, and that the county recorder’s going to issue an arrest warrant (which sounds totally made up). Then he told me to call him back at 844-210-4888 to sort it out. I checked official IRS contacts online and this number doesn’t show up anywhere.
