Got this message on my old Nokia handset saying "Message can't be displayed". I've read some of the other posts here about it too. The thing is, I want to send it on to 7726 but can’t find any way to forward it since there’s no forward button in the menu. Anyone else had this?

820202.. I also use an old-school phone.. a Nokia as well. No internet, just the basics - torch, alarm, and snake game. I’ve been wondering for ages who keeps sending these texts but only looked it up today.. Thought it might be someone I know sending a picture, which you can only get on newer phones.. After reading all the different guesses here.. I’m putting my two cents in.. for now, it’s a mystery to me. I’ve labelled it unknown.. but it’s really annoying not knowing who or why these messages keep coming!!!!

The message is all scrambled so I couldn’t make it out, but I looked up the number here and it’s no shock to find out it’s been a scam for ages, from what I can tell.

The message was a complete mess, all jumbled and hard to read. I looked it up here and saw it’s connected to scams, which honestly didn’t shock me at all. I’m definitely not texting back “STOP” - feels like that’s just what they want from folks.

This 820202 number keeps messaging me over and over, its properly irritating. They always call at crazy hours, either really late at night or super early in the morning, which makes me wonder if it's some overseas scam or something. Since my old fashioned flip phone doesn’t have internet or call blocking, I sent the number to 7726, which I think is Ofcom’s spam service. Hopefully they’ll put a stop to it soon.

Hello there! Morning! Who exactly is this? The message just has the digits 820202 and says "Message cannot be displayed." There's nothing else to go on, no other ID or info about where it came from, just that number 820202. i was asleep in bed when out of nowhere i got a disturbing late night text that just said "message cannot be displayed" (21/11/20). then weirdly, i got the exact same message again early that morning. so that’s twice in one day. i dug through my old texts and saw a similar creepy message popped up back in jan 2017 at like 3am or something. honestly, this seems like something the cops should get involved with.

Got a text from 820202 on 1st July 2020, also got one the day before or maybe same day. It just said "Message cannot be displayed". I’ve got a basic phone, cost me £20, no internet or smart stuff. Wonder if it’s some kind of picture virus that won’t damage old phones like mine. Or maybe it’s just some spam from O2. Could also be some new type of message that only shows properly on internet-enabled phones.

I've had two calls from this number in the past hour. I have a Nokia and all it shows is "Message cannot be displayed". I've replied with STOP and I'll wait to see if that stops it.

This number sent me a couple of texts. I’m using a really old phone, a Sony J5 from ’92, so the messages don’t show up correctly and they’re just 5 characters each.

Sorted it out myself. I’ve got a really old Nokia that just doesn’t seem to handle long texts properly. Instead of a normal message, I get an MMS and the phone just shows ‘Message cannot be displayed.’ So, for me it’s nothing dodgy. Looks like I’ll have to buy a new phone soon.
