A chap claiming to be John from BT rang me up regarding my internet service. I told him there was no issue with it whatsoever and promptly ended the call.

Same old story: Some dodgy bloke with a fake English name but a thick Indian accent telling me my computer is full of viruses and that my BT line will be cut off in an hour. He then asked to get remote access to my laptop - no chance! Watch out for these scams.

This morning at approximately 8:10, I received a call from a woman who seemed to have an Asian accent. She claimed to be representing BT and informed me that my BT line was going to be disconnected because of a technical issue, and it would take a month to restore the service. I pretended to be the cleaner, but before I could inquire further, they hung up on me.

I received a call purporting to be from BT based in London, where the chap on the other end insisted that my phone service would be suspended for two months as some sort of precautionary measure. He had an Indian accent, and when I pressed him for his name, he flatly refused and then became quite rude. At one point, he even told me to "bugger off, you mother...". Quite shocking, really!

I received a call from someone claiming there was an issue with my BT service. They inquired whether I was actually a BT customer. I found it rather odd, so I asked them why they were ringing me if they were unsure about that. Then, I simply ended the call.

This person rang up saying there was an issue with my BT service, then asked if I used BT. I said if you’re not sure about that, why bother calling me? Then I just ended the call. Looks like a typical con to me!

Got a call from some con artists pretending to be from BT tech support. Seriously, why are they even allowed to buy phone numbers?! They try to get you to press the Windows key plus R and then want you to let them connect through TeamViewer so they can mess with your computer! Absolute scoundrels, no idea how they live with themselves. I managed to stall them for about 15 minutes though, so fingers crossed I stopped someone else from falling for their tricks.

Some bloke rang saying he was from “BT tech support,” sounded quite impatient. He said our internet was gonna be cut off for 15 days cos our line was supposedly sending viruses to their server, which I had no clue about. He told me to check the computer that was supposedly online. I told him none of the computers were on and he just hung up. He called back straight away but I didn’t pick up and haven’t heard from him since. Definitely a scam.

This number kept ringing me non stop - every time I said I wasn’t interested and hung up, they would just call back straight away. I even tried saying just two words to end it but it made no difference, they kept ringing. On the last call I picked up and stayed silent then left the phone off the hook, no clue how long it took before they finally hung up. How do they manage to get away with this kind of harassment?

I recently encountered a rather dodgy BT tech support scam linked to the number 02031290949, or something along those lines. The chap, who was clearly up to no good, insisted that the caller ID appeared as an international number. Quite suspicious if you ask me!

Typical Indian bloke calling, with the same tale about my "BT internet" being cut off soon. Problem is, I've never even had BT internet! I just told him to go ahead then kept quiet. After a bit of silence, he gave up and ended the call.

He spoke with an Indian accent and gave me the same old spiel. I kept asking him where exactly he was ringing from, but all he’d say was "BT". When I asked for the actual number, he just wouldn’t tell me. So in the end, I told him to take a hike and he hung up. I just wanted to try to make his day a bit worse. I managed to get his number by using 1471.

It's the same old scam every time - always some guy from India pretending he's with BT. They try to say my internet's going to be cut off because of BT's satellite or something daft like that. The funny thing is, my wired connection here in Kingston upon Hull is actually handled by KCom, and no satellites involved whatsoever. I just let the bloke carry on shouting nonsense like "You f#ck me you wife you are" while I went about my day. Seriously, what a bunch of idiots.

Got a call from an Asian lady who said her name was Penny. She told me there was a problem with my 'Windows internet connection'. I wish I had more time, I could've played along way longer but I was in a rush.

At about 8.05, got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent saying he's from BT tech support. He reckoned my computer was full of viruses I didn’t know about, and that I’ll be without internet for days starting tomorrow. I asked him where exactly he was calling from and he just said BT. Then he tried saying it could be sorted if I turned on my computer. Yeah, sure, not falling for it - total scam.

Got a call from an Asian lady saying she was from tech support, said they were going to cut off my internet for two whole months! Number was 00811784, definitely fishy.

Got a call from this number, some bloke trying really hard to sound legit saying my broadband would get cut off. Claimed he was from BT. I told him I know my tech stuff and work for a big IT firm, but he didn’t seem to care at all. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR TIME. It’s a total scam. No matter how genuine they seem, just hang up straight away, don’t waste your time talking to them.

Some bloke with an Indian accent said he was from BT. Thankfully, a mate had already warned me about this scam. He said my internet was gonna be cut off because my computer had viruses. He asked me to switch it on, but I told him I don’t even own a PC lol. Then he told me to type something in a search bar, so I pretended to do it and acted all shocked. He said, “See, I told you!” I just told him he was talking rubbish and don’t have a PC, then he hung up on me.

We've been receiving a slew of nuisance calls purportedly from "BT". Fortunately, I've managed to stay alert to the potential scam, but my poor mum fell for their tricks. Had I not been there to intervene, it’s quite likely she would have been swindled. I implore the genuine BT to take real action against this mess; it’s becoming quite tiresome!

Got a call from them at about 7:30 this morning, the number was all wrong. Service providers seriously need to step up and block these calls. I’m in the telecoms industry and honestly, it’s not difficult to sort out! Why don’t the big providers take real action on this?

My phone buzzed at 08:56 today - call went straight to voicemail. No voicemail left, just this number. Oddly, it happened after another call at 08:27 from 01706 218826 [Rochdale], a bloke with an Indian accent claiming he was "from Microsoft". He hung up quick once I shouted "Who do you think you are calling at this hour?". Makes me reckon these might be linked? Most likely same dodgy contacts list - how on earth do these scams get hold of our numbers?

Today, I received a couple of phone calls from a chap named 'Alexander Smith' who spoke with a strong Indian accent, followed by a woman named Grace - not quite sure of her surname. They alerted me that my internet service would be terminated imminently. I'm well aware this is a scam, but my real concern lies with how these lowlifes prey on those who might be less savvy. It's imperative that action is taken to put an end to this nonsense swiftly!

I just received a rather curious call from someone purporting to work for BT, who insisted that there were issues with my internet connection. I couldn't help but respond with, "how intriguing, considering I don’t actually have an account with BT!" At that point, they abruptly terminated the call, clearly flustered. It’s unfortunate that these sorts of calls, particularly from the number mentioned above, seem to slip through the cracks of regulation, likely because they originate from outside our shores. I'm at a bit of a loss as to what can truly be done about it, aside from spreading the word to help others avoid falling for such scams.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent. I ended up talking to him for about 5 minutes, letting him go on about how my computer was apparently sending error messages to BT. I asked him what sort of messages and what they said, but he couldn’t really explain properly. Then he mentioned the messages were being sent over the internet to BT. I told him, 'Hang on, I don’t have internet at home, only at work!' Next thing, he just hung up on me :o)

Got a call earlier today from a bloke in India pretending to be from Microsoft. Told him we were onto his scam straight away and he just started cussing like mad. Now I’m getting loads of calls with people yelling in Indian on the other end! Best not to pick up or share any info, seriously!!!

Got a call from 00811784, some bloke called Alex Watson with a strong Indian accent claiming he was from BT. He told me I’d somehow downloaded malware every time I go online or check my emails. He was proper persistent, going on about my internet being cut off in a couple of days if I didn’t sort it. Said my computer might be sending harmful stuff out (which it’s not) but if "they" catch it, they can get rid of it. Honestly, if his mum knew he was spouting nonsense like that she’d be furious.

Received a couple of calls from those utter muppets today. The first caller claimed to be ringing from BT, saying my internet would be switched off by tomorrow. Being in the tech field myself, I decided to feign ignorance and see where it led-had a bit of a jolly and even got transferred to a so-called "technician" who, funnily enough, also insisted he was from BT. When I inquired about what BT actually stood for, he promptly hung up. The second chap that rang made it clear he was from British Telecom this time (cleverer, I’ll give them that). I managed to keep him on the line for well over half an hour before finally telling him to bugger off. Now, part of me feels a bit sorry for these blokes, relying on scams to make a living. Yet, I can’t help but hope somebody takes action to put an end to this ridiculous situation!

I think the notion of tracking via the IP address is clever, but it seems they've caught on to that trick. Sadly, they seem completely stumped when it comes to guessing my details! The moment I insisted that number wasn't linked to me, poof-the call was cut off!

A woman with a strong Asian accent rang me, claiming to be from "BT" and said my internet was about to be disconnected in two days. I told her I wasn't falling for that nonsense and asked her not to call me again. This number has phoned me a few times before, but I didn’t catch on straight away. Once, a guy with an Asian accent rang and asked me to open the event viewer and read out what it showed. That’s when I knew BT wouldn’t bother normal customers with such complicated stuff and told him to hit the road.

I received a rather bewildering call from someone with a thick Indian accent who alleged he was from BT. He insisted that my computer was riddled with viruses and that he could assist in clearing them out. Honestly, what a fool! He didn’t seem to grasp the concept of an IP address and kept rambling on about “your main computer.” Really showed himself to be a right numpty.

I’m absolutely sick to death of these persistent calls! It feels like they must earn a penny for every time someone answers. I’ve had two already this morning alone, so I’ve gone ahead and unplugged my answering machine since they seem to love waiting for it to kick in before they hang up. It’s always the same story on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I've tried being quite brusque with them in the past, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. Thankfully, caller ID has been a godsend - at least now I can see who's ringing and avoid answering if it’s one of them!

We've been inundated with these types of calls lately, and it’s quite clear they’re dodgy. My husband works in IT, and the moment he brings it up, they promptly terminate the call! I signed up our landline with the Telephone Preference Service ages ago, yet it hasn’t made the slightest difference in reducing these pesky interruptions.

Received a rather dodgy call this morning at 8:49. The chap on the line had a distinctly Indian/Pakistani accent, and there was a lot of commotion in the background as if he was in a call centre. He reckoned he was from BT and that our internet would be cut off for two months because we supposedly downloaded some hacking software. I called nonsense on that, but he just wouldn’t let up and asked if I needed guidance on rectifying the situation. I was having none of it, demanded he cease talking, and hung up. Clearly, they picked the wrong one this time. These persistent nuisance calls are really infuriating! It boggles the mind why no one's managed to tackle this issue properly. I’m subscribed to a service that’s meant to combat this nonsense, but it feels like a losing battle with the sheer number of them out there. A woman claiming to be ‘Jenny’ from BT tech support rang me, warning that my phone and internet would be disconnected for three months because they’d detected suspicious signals from my computer linked to harmful downloads. Then she asked if I even had a PC! When I questioned her, she transferred me to some supervisor named Peter who threatened to cut off my line in under an hour. After dealing with loads of these scams before, I asked if I had to press the Windows key plus R. He seemed surprised and asked how I knew that, so I didn’t hold back telling him exactly what I thought.

Got a call today, but the line was super scratchy. Like usual, some lady with an Asian accent claimed to be from BT’s Tech Support and said there was an issue with my BT Internet that let my computer get infected.
