Hello there! I’d really appreciate it if this number could be put on mute permanently. Cheers!

I recently switched from a contract deal to a SIM-only plan with O2, and when I looked at my latest bill, I saw a charge of £1.25 daily at the exact time I got a message from 80876. I never agreed to this, so I'm planning to get in touch with the company today to put a stop to these texts. (02076335073)

I’ve just discovered I've been hit with a charge exceeding £15 for messages I never even sent! It’s infuriating, to say the least! What's worse, my provider O2 claims they’re unable to assist with the matter. Absolutely fuming right now!

I kept getting messages from “mobivity” asking me to click some link and reply STOP to 80876. It was clear it was a scam, I never clicked or dealt with the real mobivity at all. Still, these scammers keep messaging me every few weeks or so. It’s super annoying because it won’t even let me block the number correctly.

UK Power asks you to send a text to 80876 for updates following a power outage. They mention there might be a charge to get 24 hours of updates, basically the price of one text, but say that the messages they send back are free. I found their messages quite useful and they did stop after 24 hours like they said. You can reply STOP to end the messages whenever you like, but I didn’t want to risk any extra fees. Haven’t received my current phone bill yet, so not sure how much the text actually cost but for the peace of mind it gave me, it was worth it.

Got a text from 80876 offering a subscription to "LottyClub" for £1.50 each, with 3 texts a week. They told me to text "VALUE" to 80876 to join. I didn’t reply but next thing I knew, they’d taken three payments, totalling £4.50 plus 10p for the message. This kept happening every week until I saw my bill and got in touch with my network. Turns out it's linked to some diet recipe site called "tastydietrecipe[###]." They also have a number, 08000885826, if you want to complain about this spam! Definitely report it to your provider, you might be able to get your money back.

80876 - Ive never got any texts from this number but somehow it's been charging on my phone bill. When my mum asked about it, I told her straight up I never sent any texts to that number and showed her my recent messages too. Last months bill was over £10. On Sunday 14th April 2019 I finally texted them saying "STOP ALL" and the reply said I had no active subscriptions. I’d never subscribe to anything daft like that anyway, plus there’s no point lying to my mum cos she’d be furious!

Spotted some strange charges on my O2 bill linked to this number, for a subscription I never signed up for. I did a survey for Zara clothes on Instagram and then out of nowhere this number started messaging me sayin I’d signed up to flash.deals and would be getting alerts costing £1.50 each. My phone bill mentions premium text services, but I can't find any messages from these numbers in my chat logs. It appears we’re in the same boat! I’m on O2 as well, and we’ve found ourselves stuck in this gadget show loop more times than I care to admit. Could someone please come up with a reliable way to stop this nuisance and share it here? I would be ever so grateful! Once I’ve managed to end the incessant messages, I propose we all bombard customer support with calls repeatedly. Let’s give those blighters a taste of their own medicine by hanging up on them! Wouldn’t it be lovely to see how they enjoy being hassled in return? Cheers!

We're experiencing the same issue, and I'm with Vodafone too! They insisted that we send a text message exactly as per their instructions, but it’s rather confusing! The message says ‘Unsub quit club@150pmnth’, and I can’t quite make out what part we’re supposed to text and where it should go! I've messaged back to opt out because there's been no clear guidance otherwise. Quite frustrating! :o(

I'm with O2 and I was just looking over some old bills when I spotted this number appearing several times, each time for £1.28. It's quite puzzling, as I've seen other O2 users mention getting the same charge. How on earth can a company bill you without having your consent or signing up for anything? I really need to get in touch with O2 to dig into this further.

If you head over to www.phonepayplus.org.uk and enter '80876' into their search bar, you'll find instructions to send a text saying 'quit ALL' to 80876. It appears we've received some rather unsettling news from Three, suggesting that we somehow signed up for a premium rate testing service-despite the fact that we've never opted into anything of the sort. This peculiar arrangement was supposedly initiated on the 21st of July, which amusingly coincided with a Tuesday. We suspect it’s related to a competition we entered linked to the Gadget Show on that very day. Interestingly enough, the representatives assured us that no charges have been made against us since that date. Three has advised that we should ring the number provided and ask to be removed from this dubious subscription.

We're being hit with a charge of £4.25 every other day, which appears on our statement labelled as "Text Details Service." When we reached out to Vodafone customer support, they informed us that the culprit is apparently linked to a company named Internet TV EUROPE. However, we never agreed to any such service, nor did we sign up for anything of the sort. Strangely enough, their website seems inactive and is just parked. We’re puzzled, especially since we noticed a similar situation with another service called TOPUPNOW that we use for international calls. Does anyone have any insights or suggestions?

I recently got in touch with O2, and they've informed me that we’ve been charged by this company since February. The outfit in question is called Cell Interactive Group Ltd. O2 advised me to send an SMS with 'quit' to 80876. They also provided a customer support number for this firm, which is 0870 2354042. Unfortunately, when I attempted to call, I could only reach their voicemail. I'm planning to report this matter to the regulatory body overseeing premium rate numbers at phonepayplus.org. I’ll keep you all updated on any progress.

I've noticed that various companies appear to be using this number to send me text messages. I'm on Vodafone and receive two messages regularly every week, each costing me £1.28. While it’s not a fortune, it certainly grabs your attention, doesn’t it? According to Vodafone, there are numerous quiz sites, sports competitions, and even ringtone services linked to this number. They recommend sending "quit" to 80876 as a new message - just don’t reply to the original texts. If that doesn’t work, I should ring 08702480277. I’ll keep you posted!

Every time we add credit, we get bombarded with the same text message, and it’s really starting to annoy me. Not only do they slap on a fee of £1.28 each time, but to boot, they want £1.50 just to opt-out! It’s a proper headache. I really hope that unsubscribing actually does what it’s supposed to.
