I chose not to pick up the phone when it rang just after 9:00 in the morning, as I was still in the land of nod. Calls from unknown numbers at that ungodly hour aren’t my cup of tea. In my past encounters, it seems that dodgy characters like to ring between 8 and 9 a.m., so any unidentified caller gets the silent treatment from me. If I do accidentally answer, it's a swift hang-up before you can say 'scam'.

Received a dodgy call claiming to be from Eastlink. Definitely a scam!

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Eastlink who wanted us to remain on the line to chat with a so-called counsellor. Just a word of caution - they’re nothing but scammers! Stay vigilant!
