They keep ringing me every half hour!11 yearsI've been receiving a barrage of calls lately, and every time I answer, it's dead air on the other end. Quite vexing, to say the least!11 yearsI've recently applied for financial assistance for my studies, and I received a rather suspicious call from this number. A lady with a heavy accent, who seemed to struggle with English, claimed that I had been approved for a grant of at least £4000. She went on to confirm both my email and home address, stating that I would receive a call from someone to verify a code she would email me. Then, quite oddly, she mentioned that I needed to pay a fee of £3.87 in order to access this grant. At that point, I decided to hang up. Please be cautious and don’t divulge any personal information to these individuals; it clearly seems like a scam!11 yearsI had a chap reach out to me, claiming I was eligible for an £8000 grant. I was absolutely chuffed, seeing as money for uni has been quite the burden for me. He already had my details, so when he asked for my debit card number, I thought, why not? Sadly, this is where it went awry. He mentioned I’d need a higher balance on my card, which struck me as odd - why on earth would I need funds if I’m supposedly getting free cash? Deep down, I recognise it’s a con, but it’s a right shame that they target students like me. It’s truly disgraceful behaviour!11 yearsI'm fed up with this constant annoyance. Caller ID shows it as a Toll-Free Call. Whenever we pick up, there's this odd silence for a couple of moments before a voice recording chimes in with a curt, "Goodbye," and then hangs up. These annoyances tend to come around meal times - the typical hunting ground for pesky telemarketers. I had a call from some chap named Michael, who, if I'm honest, sounded more like a clueless muppet than a professional. He claimed to be from Microsoft and insisted he had some sort of error code from my PC that needed fixing. To top it all off, he was incredibly rude and had a terrible grasp of the English language.
