I keep getting these texts: "FreeMsg: You've got a new potential match! (name), (age) from (location) has sent a cheeky message, reminiscent of those dating profiles. To start chatting and access some risqué photos, just reply with your six-digit date of birth, like 230670." Honestly, it’s been relentless-one every single day for nearly three weeks now. I’ve had enough and decided it’s time to block them all!

I only began recieving calls from 69009 after I gave my number to PayPal for their security verification. I’ve never signed up for these kinds of messages before.

I received a few texts from this number, which I promptly decided to block. The issue, however, was that it also blocked important messages from my mobile provider and other contacts. So, I made the choice to unblock everything and simply delete those messages. The same pesky texts resurfaced, typical stuff like “local girl wants to chat”. After receiving about five or six of those, they eventually stopped bothering me. Now, I don’t get any at all and haven’t incurred any charges. My advice? Just ignore them, and they’ll eventually lose interest.

I have no clue why they keep at it even after so many years, like over three now. Shouldn't the phone company be able to block that number for good? Seems like it should be against the rules :))) The message looked dodgy from the start, with some woman wanting to send you pics. I reckon the birthdate they ask for might have something to do with your bank info.

Just dont respond, it’s a scam and they charge you for texting back. They dont get your number from any website you’ve joined, they just blast messages to loads of random numbers they’ve made up and wait for a reply. Once you reply, they know your number is active and will keep messaging you, hoping you’ll keep replying. The more you reply, the more money they make.

I got a message from 69009 saying “send your birthdate to get pics of a woman!” How they even got my number is beyond me! I haven't signed up for anything! I got in touch with them and asked how they had my details, told them I never signed up. Managed to get them to stop messaging me. Gave them a warning that I’d send them a big bill if they kept it up! Also said I’d report them to the authorities or something, can’t quite remember which one.
