I got a text supposedly from PayPal about some fraud on my account, right after a phone call. It’s definitely a scam, so don’t bother replying even if they seem to have some of your info. When I called them out on it being a dodgy scam, they started getting rude and aggressive.

For the past couple of days, I've been getting loads of texts, like over 50. Most of them start with EE and then a crazy long string of numbers like 6666666666666666. It's been non-stop and really annoying.

Just like others have said, they were attempting to get me to a dodgy PayPal payment page. I also received a couple of emails looking like they came from PayPal, which I’m sure were part of the same scam.

Got a Paypal verification code out of nowhere, didn’t have any Paypal stuff open or anything. Then my phone rang not long after, but it’s set to block calls from numbers that aren’t in my contacts, so I didn’t pick up. No voicemail either. This felt fishy since my genuine Paypal codes come from a totally different number. Watch out, this is probably a scam!

Over the past half day, I got about five messages from this same number saying they were from PayPal with some sort of verification code. When I checked my PayPal account, it showed a login from a device I don’t recognise, even though I have pretty strict security settings. There haven’t been any updates or changes to my account though. Plus, I got a few texts from another short code as well, which just adds to the suspicion.

After that, they asked for my PayPal security info, which seemed really off. Got a message from 67975 saying it’s PayPal, going "PayPal fraud alert: Are you trying to pay £76.45 GBP? Reply 1 if yes, 2 if no. Text & data rates apply." Sounds like a total scam to me. Nowadays, I’d think it’s fairly simple for the authorities to find out who’s behind this and take legal action.

Got this number calling me, so just added it to my contacts as fake PayPal scam to avoid any trouble.
