66299 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 66299 👆 is reported as a persistent scam associated with premium-rate messages from a shortcode linked to a company called Oxygen8 and GetFitCoach, charging unsuspecting users around £3.75 to £4.50 per unsolicited text, often monthly. Many customers, primarily on networks like Three and O2, report being billed without subscribing or receiving messages, with blocking the number ineffective. Mobile providers frequently disavow responsibility, advising victims to text STOP at a small cost or contact the service provider for refunds, which can be slow and inconsistent. Refunds, when obtained, often involve post office voucher codes. Users are advised to report to the Phone-paid Services Authority, Ofcom, and their network provider, persist in contacting the company’s customer care email, and consider blocking all premium services to avoid further unauthorised charges.

They keep taking £4.50 off my iD account every single week. Feels like a total scam to me.

I've never signed up for this number, yet I'm still being billed £4.50. It's infuriating, especially since I've made several attempts to have the number blocked!

I’ve noticed a deduction of £4.17 from my account each month by number 66299. I’ve tried reaching out via text, but I haven’t received any response. Can anyone suggest how I might put a stop to these payments? Cheers!

I've got a pay-as-you-go plan, but I've no idea how I've ended up subscribed to this apparent scam. I'm quite keen on getting my money back, to be honest.

I’ve been receiving messages from the number 66299 and I’m looking for assistance to put an end to them. I’ve visited the O2 store in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to provide any solutions. If anyone can help, my contact number is 07946450445. Cheers, Iryna.

I’ve been getting texts from “Just Discounts.” If I recall right, it was a site I signed up for ages ago. I don’t usually look at my O2 bills since I’ve got unlimited everything, but today I got a message from O2 saying I’d hit my “spending cap” or something like that - not sure what that means yet. I only looked at my bill after spotting these extra charges. I sent their message on to 7726 and I’m gonna wait and see if the messages stop. I also tried texting STOP to 66299 but it’s not going through, the message just wont send.

Number: 66299 I've been getting ripped off by this shortcode for ages now. Bit silly of me, I admit, for not looking over my O2 bill properly sooner. I've not had any messages from them, so there's no way for me to opt out (not that I ever signed up for anything in the first place). I'm going to try and put a stop to throwing money away to these scammers. Would be good if O2 actually cared about their customers instead of ignoring it.

I only realised there is an issue with 66299 when I checked my online O2 statement. I can't send STOP because I never get any texts from that number in my inbox, not on the specified date or any other.

I've been hit with regular monthly fees of £18.50 from this company since 2018. It's a staggering total of over £600 that I've forked out. I reached out to them for clarification, and they proposed a mere £139 as a partial refund, which I swiftly declined. Now they’ve upped their offer to £279, but I've turned that down as well, which is what led me to this site.

Since March, I've seen charges from oxygen8 on my phone bill, ranging from £6 to £15, but I've never signed up for anything. Three have been no help at all, just giving me a number to call that nobody picks up. 66299

Since March I've seen charges from oxygen8 on my phone bills, ranging from six to fifteen pounds. I never signed up for anything like this. Tried calling three for help but all they did was give me a number to call back, and no one picks up. The number is 66299. It's been so frustrating!

For several months now, O2 has been charging me for Premium texts even though I've blocked 66299 on my phone. They don't seem interested in helping at all and just told me to text STOP to the number. I've never signed up for anything with them, so why am I expected to pay just to stop these annoying messages?

66299 keep stealing cash from me every month without my permission, and I’m seriously considering bailing on 02.

66299 So about my earlier comment, I’ve gone ahead and started this investigation. Might as well just follow it through and check if Three end up refunding the same amount, which I’ll probably say no to and explain what actually went down. The probe into this short code is underway, so let’s see what comes of it. I’m in it for the long haul, gonna stick with it till the very end haha!

I finally got my cash returned by sending emails to .customercare[###]@oxygen8[###]. It took me about 2 months and maybe 5 or 6 messages back and forth. They kept giving me dodgy excuses and fake ways to pay. Just keep pushing them. Best of luck!

I eventually got my money refunded by contacting customercare[###]@oxygen8[###]. It took nearly two months and I had to send about 5 or 6 emails. They kept giving me all kinds of excuses and false payment options. Just keep pushing them. Fingers crossed for you!

It’s probably from entering a Facebook contest or downloading some app from the Play Store. I got charged £7.50 over a couple of months without realising it till now. The app’s called Medicheck - absolute rip off, they really need to be shut down and banned.

They’ve been charging me £4.50 every month for the past four months through my phone bill, but I never actually subscribed to anything. I got a few texts from them but just deleted and blocked them straight away. Even after all that, they kept taking my money without asking. I ended up having to get Three UK to block them completely.

66299 I just noticed that Three has been charging me £4.50 every month for nearly a year on a service I never signed up for. I’ve been chatting with their support but they keep dodging the issue. I reported this number loads of times to their "anti-spam" line 7726 but nothing whatsoever has been done. They’re utterly useless and seem to be part of the scam themselves. The number linked to this shortcode company is 02080899319, but I have no clue what to do next.

66299 Oxygen8 - they’ve ripped me off more than £40 in the past few months. I feel proper daft for not having a closer eye on my all-inclusive bill, but I never signed up for this or any other premium service, and I haven’t even got any texts from them. Yet Three say they know about it but say there’s nothing they can do except send me to [email protected][###] - honestly, it’s a joke.

Seen a £4.50 charge on my daughter’s phone since January, called Three & Oxygen8 but got no help at all. Sent an email to Getfitcoach explaining it’s a child under 16 being charged, and finally got a text telling us to visit the Post Office to get the money back. MAKE SURE YOU EXPLAIN IT’S A MINORS NUMBER AS IT’S ILLEGAL TO CHARGE UNDER 16S to get your full refund from any dodgy charges on your bill.

I spotted an extra fee of £13.50 on my Three mobile bill the other day. When I got in touch with Three, they told me it was a charge from a firm named Oxygen8. I then reached out to both Oxygen8 and the Phone Service Authority. Thankfully, I got my full refund just yesterday, sent through Royal Mail. I'd suggest everyone check with their network provider to block these sorts of charges and also alert the PSA so they can deal with dodgy companies like these. Best of luck!
