I got a message saying "Last warning, (My name). Pick up your parcel now or it’ll be sent back by midnight: (a link I’m definitely not touching since it looks dodgy)." Can't reply to them either, which seems a bit fishy.

This number cost me over £40, and I never even called it or knew it was a thing. I only noticed it when I checked my call history. I told O2 about it, but they just brushed me off, saying it’s not on them. If this kind of scam keeps happening, I’m definitely cancelling my contract, and I’m sure many others will too.

my lad has messaged this number a couple of times, and apparently it cost me £2.50. lucky i set a limit on his phone, gonna ask him in the morning why he even texted it in the first place.

Got my latest Orange bill today, and it showed a 15-minute call to 66666 on the 11th of September charged at £1.50 a minute. Thing is, I never made that call and there’s no record of it in my call log. They told me to get in touch with the Phone Paid Services Authority. I filled in their online form and then rang them up. They thought Fonix managed the number, so I called Fonix, but they said they only handle short code SMS stuff and reckoned Mgage was responsible. When I rang Mgage, they redirected me to Atlanta GE, who also claimed to only work with short codes for SMS. Seems like a total scam to me. Makes me wonder if SIM cloning is involved, given how much of this sort of stuff is happening.

Got a bill from Virgin Media the other day and it had a £4.10 fee for calling 66666, but I never made that call. I tried sorting it out at a Virgin store but they weren't much help at all. Does anyone know how to stop this happening again?

I just found out that this number has completely drained the credit off my phone. When I looked at my call log, it showed a call to this number, but I honestly have never dialled them or returned any missed calls. I’m 74 and live on a fixed pension, so losing my small top-ups like this is really upsetting. I hardly ever use my phone unless I really need to, so all this is just very frustrating.

Alright folks, just a heads up - if you keep ringing up the devil, who’s called Lucius by the way, it’s not a good idea. This guy’s proper nasty and won’t be happy if you keep calling him. Best to stop or you might get on his bad side for real.

I’m only 13, and this number has been ringing me up late at night. One time, it really freaked me out cause it just yelled super loud into the phone and then just hung up. Proper scary!

A few weeks ago, this number popped up on my phone screen while it was just sat on the table, untouched by me. I definitely didn’t press any buttons or call it by mistake. But when I got my next phone bill from O2, there were multiple charges for calls made to a number with repeating sixes - something like 6666. It showed up around seven times, each time with a different string of sixes in the number. Because of this, my bill was about £60 higher than normal. I contacted O2 but they’re refusing to believe I never dialled those numbers! It feels so wrong to be held responsible for what looks like some kind of scam. I never dialled that number by accident or on purpose, and I certainly didn’t reply to any dodgy texts that might have allowed this to happen. I’m going to keep fighting this, but if anyone else has been caught out with the same thing, please don’t just accept the charges. The only way these providers will take it seriously is if enough people report it.
