Phone number ☎️ 65144 👆 is reported as a persistent issue affecting mainly Three network customers, involving unsolicited premium-rate texts from a shortcode linked to recipe subscriptions and similar scams. Many users experience unexpected £3 monthly charges without consenting to any service, often receiving no visible text messages or failing to stop charges by texting "STOP." Refunds are sometimes issued after complaints, but providers tend to blame user error, urging contact with the alleged service company and advising caution. This situation has led to accusations of negligence and complicity by the network, with recommendations to cap spending, block premium texts via phone settings, and report incidents to regulatory bodies. Overall, vigilance and proactive measures are crucial to prevent and resolve these fraudulent charges.

6 yearsThree network played a part in the scam by letting them sign me up automatically and withdraw cash from my bank. At first, they tried saying it was my fault for clicking links, then said it was because I have social media (which I don't have at all), then blamed it on fake kids or strangers using my phone even though it's locked with a password. In the end, they gave my money back and threw in £5 when I threatened to report it to ICO and the police - feels a bit like they were trying to buy me off.ICO6 yearsI texted STOP to 65144, which did manage to halt these messages. Following Three’s suggestion, I also emailed [email protected][###], explaining I never consented to get these texts and asked for a refund. They replied and agreed to refund me. They asked for my bank details, and whilst I was a bit wary, I gave them info for a savings account that can only transfer funds to my other accounts. They processed the refund, and thankfully, after a month, I haven’t had any more trouble.6 yearsThese lot have been messaging me for the past few months, charging me £3 every time. I went into a 3 shop to complain, and they told me to remove my SIM from the home broadband and pop it into a phone to text STOP. Tried that but the message wouldn’t send. Rang 3’s customer support and spoke to billing, who then blocked that number on my SIM and gave me a refund for my next bill. Got a confirmation text from 3 already. I’m in the Chesterfield area.ThreeChesterfield6 yearsI use iD and for the past 4 months ive been recieving texts from 65144 and its costing me £3 every time.6 yearsIm on ID and I’ve gotten four messages from them. As of Feb 2020 they seem to still be active, cause they actually pick up the phone. I got charged in Jan and I honestly have no clue how I ended up with this subscription since ive never signed up or wanted to use a service like this at all.6 yearsI didnt expect to see 65144 on my phone bill. I sent an email to [email protected][###] asking for a refund and they actually gave my money back. Hope this helps! Mobile from Three 076388793127 yearsI've gotten like three or four calls like this, had no clue what they were about.7 years65144 no idea where they found my number but ive had 3 texts all charging me £3 each. When I tried to text STOP it just wouldnt go through, got sent back undelivered.7 yearsGot a text from 65144 about some recipes last September and was hit with a £3 charge. Contacted Three and they gave me a refund, but when I checked my bill today, turns out they’ve been charging me £3 every month after that! Three customer service was pretty useless, just told me to text STOP to the number, which I did, and also to email the company to stop it - no way I’m bothering with that. I’ve now set a £0 spending limit on my account, if that doesn’t fix it, I’m seriously thinking of dumping Three altogether. Proper rubbish service.37 years65144 again. Just like the rest. This is with ID that runs on 3 network. Got charged £3 for a single text on both the November 19 and December 19 bills. I called ID customer support and they told me to set the capping limit to zero and disable premium call options in the ID app. Hopefully this will do the trick.7 yearsChecked my latest phone bills and noticed a £3 per month fee I didn’t recognise at all. I’ve begun the process to report and dispute it today. According to Three: If you want info about Shortcodes, go to [#]psauthority[###][###] and try their Number Checker to find out who’s behind those calls.7 yearsI’m having the same issue! I never texted that number but just noticed that I got charged three times for it yesterday.7 yearsThe exact same number everyone’s talking about here. I’ve never signed up for anything with my number, never answered calls from it, and still got charged £3 on a day I didn’t get any calls or texts. Feels like Three are trying to rip off their customers, thinking loads won’t notice their money going missing and are using a bogus number to take cash.7 yearsI heard that 65144 was closed down on 30 October, but I’m not so sure. My mobile provider (3) billed me for a text I got on 14 November, so something’s not adding up.7 years65144 keeps coming up in everyone’s comments. I’ve never signed up for anything with my phone and don’t usually pick up unknown calls. Yet, I got charged £3 on a day when I got no calls or texts at all. Feels like Three are pulling a fast one on us, hoping most won’t notice the cash vanishing and using a dodgy number to scam people.7 yearsNot sure where they found my number from. I sent it to 7726 like this site said. Got a text back telling me to send STOP ALL. I’ve done that now, even tho my phone told me it might cost. Fingers crossed I’m not charged and they stop bothering me. I’ll update if stuff keeps happening.7 yearsTotal scammers. I’d suggest turning on blocking features in your THREE app so it don't happen again. Also, check your phone settings to add an extra layer of security.7 yearsThis has happened to me too on my Three mobile broadband sim, and I had no idea who the number was until I checked my bill. It's really annoying, and I’m definitely gonna let Three know exactly how I feel about this.Three7 yearsHad pretty much the same problem as lots of others, 3 of them were completely useless like a screen door on a submarine. They told me the firm taking the money is Oxygen8, you can drop them a line at [email protected][###] to sort a refund. I did that, sent STOP to 65114 and got a reply from FreeMess saying my service has been cancelled.FreeMess7 yearsYou can file a complaint at: [#]psauthority[###][###]7 yearsJust spent ages on the phone with Three’s customer service, and honestly, they were no help at all. Kept telling me it’s probably my fault and that I must’ve signed up somehow, even though my phone literally has no record of this number. They seriously refused to believe it was a scam. Think it’s time folks stop using Three and switch to a company that actually cares.Three7 yearsI'm having the exact same issue, getting billed even when my phone was off as I was up in the Arctic Circle, yet the charges kept coming through. It's draining all my credit, and I've complained to Three a couple of times but they just ignored it and refused to refund, saying it was a short code! Other networks have already blocked short codes cos of scammers, so why is Three dragging their feet?Arctic CircleThree7 yearsI was also billed £3 in October and November. I called Three and they seem to be aware of the problems with this 65144 number. From what I’ve seen, it looks like only Three users are affected by this scam. If you’ve been caught out by this, get in touch with Three and they should sort out a refund for you.7 years65144 has been billing me £3 every month for three months now for a service I never agreed to or wanted. It's really rubbish. I've put a £0 limit on my bill as I reckon that’s the only way to stop it.7 years65144. The bloke at 3’s support told me this is from a company called Oxygen8 that sends recipes via text. He said if I email [email protected][###], there might be a chance to get a refund. Though, I’m not really expecting much.Oxygen87 yearsI never get any texts and nothing shows up on my call log. I don’t use my phone for donations or any kind of payments. I’m on pay as you go so there’s no detailed bill. I rarely use my phone, but for the past three months, around the 12th, I’ve noticed a £3 deduction from my credit. I called my network and they said it’s from 65144 but they couldn’t stop it. They told me to text STOP or STOP ALL to that number, but the messages all bounced back and never sent. So what am I supposed to do now??? AL.3 NetworkCheersAL7 yearsSeems like three people are having the same problem. I rang them up and they refunded me pretty fast, but they said I probably signed up by accident clicking on some pop-up ad (which I don't really see how that means I agreed to be charged for texts). They told me to text back STOP, which goes against what OFCOM says. They've now put a zero spending limit on my account, so hopefully no more messages, but it also means I can't give to charities by texting anymore.OFCOM7 yearsSame thing happened to me as well, got a message about some recipes, just deleted it straight away. No more messages came through but then I saw a £3 fee on each of my last few phone bills from 65144. I hardly even use mobile data, nevermind tap on any adverts or links. How can it be right for them to charge me when I only got that first spam text and nothing else???7 yearsLike others have said, got some spam messages about recipes, and then noticed on my phone bill that I’d been charged £3 just for getting them. I’m definitely going to ring Three tonight to sort out a refund.7 yearsThey managed to take £3 from me, my lad never taps on calls he doesn’t know.7 yearsMe too. This is the third month running that I’ve had to cough up an extra £3 because of texts from 65144. I reckon it’s linked to this WUNTU thing, you know, when you try to enter those so-called free prize draws (who actually reads all the fine print before hitting accept on their phone??). I’ve just deleted the app and thankfully my contract ends in December.WUNTU7 yearsI reckon these scammers are seriously raking it in. I hadn’t seen any of these texts for a good couple of months but just spotted an extra £3 on my last two phone bills. Had to get in touch with iD Mobile, but thankfully they sorted the refund out for me. I was deleting those messages straight away, thinking they were just like spam emails. Lesson learnt, that!iD Mobile7 yearsMe too! I'm on Three and got this random text when I was in France. Then I noticed a £3 fee on my bill the next month.ThreeFrance7 yearsI only noticed there was a problem when my bill showed an extra £3 charge. There was nothing in my messages inbox but my phone had logged an outgoing message to ShopSafe and another to 65144. I’m with Three and will be contacting them because of what people have said here. Cheers!ShopSafe7 yearsI got charged £3 on my phone bill on the 29th of October, and I’m on Three. Gonna ring them up and try to get my money back!7 yearsThis isn’t about getting a text or email, it’s about sending one to 65144. If you never sent that message, why on earth are you being charged £3? THREE seem to be letting fraudsters exploit them through Cyprus. I managed to get my £3 back after giving THREE a lot of hassle. Don’t let them take your money like that.THREECyprus7 yearsJust to add to my earlier comment from about 5 hours ago, I’ve now noticed that the 65144 text came through when I was in Sorrento, Italy. So, basically, I wasn’t even in the UK at the time. Feels like that’s more than just a coincidence.SorrentoItalyUK7 yearsMy lad ended up getting billed £3 from this number. Also, THREE usually refund those charges if you keep on at them.7 years65144 is a scam. They charged me £3 on my Three bill. Three wont refund me. I can’t find a way to block calls or texts from this number using Three. When I contacted them, they said loads of people have complained about my.recipefind[###]. They told me to email them with my phone number to get a refund but that didn’t help at all. No way I’m handing over my info to recipefind, seems like a total scam.Three7 years65144. Back in October, got a call pretending to be from some subscription called [#]my.recipefind[###]/. Didn’t click any links, just marked it as spam on the phone. Then in November, THREE charged me £3 outta nowhere. Rang up THREE and they tried saying it was my fault for clicking the link, which is rubbish. Weirdly, they said they know the caller and can give me their info so I can sort it myself!!! I never signed up for anything! ICO and Action Fraud reports coming soon.THREEICOAction Fraud7 years65144 has taken money from me twice, even though I never signed up for any premium services. I've replied with "stop" and emailed [email protected] to ask them to delete my info and stop the messages, but they’ve just ignored me. I’ve reported it to the ICO as well. I got in touch with the network (ID Mobile) and told them how annoyed I was. Luckily, they refunded the £3 back to my account.ID Mobile7 yearsGot caught in a scam bot from scammers in Cyprus. They take advantage of a gap where Premium SMS messages aren’t blocked by default (usually it asks you first). Look up how to change your phone settings to block Premium SMS. THREE seems to be the only network letting these messages slip through. I had to argue with THREE's live chat for a whole hour before I got my money back.
