For some reason, this number charged me three seperate times for my internet router without me even being aware of their contact details until I checked my paperwork. It’s baffling how a company can take money from my account when it’s not even linked to a mobile phone!? I’ve raised a complaint with my provider to have the charges reversed and to block any future payments from this number.

I've gotten a couple of texts this month on my 3 network 4G router from 64640 charging me £9 - watch out for this. I'll ring them from a landline so they can't send texts to my phone. How on earth does the regulator think this is fair or not a scam? They’re totally pointless.

Oddly enough, I found out that the number 441482429362 listed on the Vespermoon site actually belongs to a Skoda dealership over in Hull! Quite confusing!

So, I noticed my direct debit was taken out for an extra £4.40, which I found really odd since I use 3 as my mobile network. How are they even able to withdraw cash from my account like that? I ended up ringing my provider, and they were quite helpful sorting it out. In the end, I just cancelled the direct debit altogether.

Make sure to report these scams to 'Action Fraud'. It’s the main national UK service for dealing with scams by phone, text, email, post, and even those annoying pop-ups. They gather info on these scams and actually look into them, so sometimes they even catch the culprits! Also, don’t be shy to complain loudly to your phone provider and push for a refund if you lost any money. Keep at it, don’t take no for an answer! Although, if you installed a suspicious app that your antivirus or firewall missed, getting your cash back might be trickier.

Got a text from sellmylivestock, which we normally use, saying 64640:FreeMsg:Welcome to MoneyoffAlerts costing £4.50 per alert max 3 per month. Text stop to 64640 to opt out. SP: Panadema Services Helpline:01239544015. I’ve tried texting stop but it doesn’t go through. Rang Vodafone and they’ve blocked these scammers for me. Vodafone told me if you report it quickly, they’ll refund those first few texts if the company refuses. So best thing is to contact your phone provider right away.

I keep getting charged several times by 64640 for texts I never agreed to. I called Three and they were great, they blocked the number and credited me back. Turns out, this number belongs to a firm called Dempan Ltd, located in Limassol, Cyprus. I tried reaching out to them but they wouldn’t give me my £63 back. I’ve now reported the issue to the ICO.

Just head to your settings and block premium texts, or give your network a ring to ask them to put a stop to any extra charges, so you don’t get billed more.

I got two texts almost back to back, the first one didn’t show a number, just said Verify and had a pin in it. Then I got another message saying something like FreeMsg: You’ve joined Rollbackdiscounts alert service, costing £4.50 per message, up to 3 a month unless you text stop to 64640. Got texts from 64640 for a while now, on and off over the past few months. I’ve tried replying with STOP like they say, and it stops the messages for a couple of weeks but then they come back again. It’s really worrying, especially thinking about older people who might get tricked by these scammers. The phone companies and laws should do more to shield folks since it’s obviously a big issue.

This company has sent me about four texts already after I told them to stop early March. Got a text from 64640 saying I’d signed up for some “roll discount” thing and they’re charging me £4.50 three times a month. I never signed up for anything. At first, I was worried they’d keep taking money, so I texted STOP and it said it was cancelled, but they even charged me for sending the stop message! It’s a proper rip off, should be blocked. 64640 I got the very same message. I even rang my provider to block any more texts like that. After looking into it, I recalled I had downloaded two apps - Decibal X and Toolbox. The message popped up the day after I installed them. Neither app says anything about getting texts in their description. Has anyone else received texts after downloading these or similar apps? This is where I reckon the messages are coming from. If it’s not the apps, then maybe their developer site, Galaner Ltd. They seem to hide behind a website called "Just-Discounts".

I got a text like the one mentioned and it won’t let me send a STOP reply. I called the Leeds number and asked them to stop the messages. They said they can’t stop them directly but will pass my details to their investigation team, which takes about 72 hours. They promised someone would contact me within that time to confirm it’s been cancelled. Ive blocked the number 64640 so I shouldn’t get any more texts from them. I also phoned Three, my mobile provider, and asked them to make sure I’m not charged for these messages. This really shouldn’t be happening.

Got a message from 64640 saying I’d signed up for something I never did and that they’d be taking £4.50 every month. I peeked at my phone bill and, annoyingly, that exact charge was there. I got in touch with my provider, told them about the number, and they flagged it as spam. Still waiting to know if I’ll get that money back though. So heads up, if you get texts from 64640 or 80250, it’s dodgy. They want you to text STOP back, but don’t do it! Oh, and definitely give your phone bill a good look over.

Got a text ages ago saying free msg from moneysavingalerts, £4.50 per message or whatever, and to text STOP to opt out. I looked it up and found warnings not to text stop as they’d still charge you £4.50 - seemed dodgy so I ignored it. Today, they took £4.50 from my account, so I texted STOP in capitals and got a message saying I’m unsubscribed now. Might be worth trying the uppercase stop instead.

Received a text from 64640 claiming I signed up for alerts that cost £4.50 monthly, up to three charges a month. Who on earth would agree to that? I definitely didn’t subscribe! They said to text STOP but my message never went through! The Phone-paid Services Authority (PSA) does list firms using this number and advises to contact them directly to unsubscribe. I’ve already emailed but no answer so far. Luckily, my phone bill has a zero cap, so fingers crossed they can’t take any money. I’m on a pension, so honestly, I just can’t afford this!

You might want to look up Dawn Scott at 1 Paget Street, Gillingham ME7 5ER. She seems to be a director of Zonnda Ltd, which deals with software development. I got the same message too, and if I don’t manage to get my money back, I’m thinking of going there myself to sort it out, including claiming for petrol, interest, and bother caused. It all seems a bit dodgy since the director and company have changed addresses loads in the past few years and there’s been talk of possible striking off notices as well.

This number keeps sending me texts all the time telling me to reply with 'STOP' but I never do, for obvious reasons. Does anyone know how to put an end to these scammers? Any suggestions?

I keep getting this message and have no clue how to make it go away: "You've signed up for the VMComps subscription charging £4.50 weekly unless you text STOP to 64640. SP: VESPERMOON LTD HELP? 01133708542" Is this some sort of scam? Can I block it somehow?

I've been getting these messages nonstop as well and I’ve just ignored them so far. Pretty sure it's some kind of scam. It’s really annoying though and I want to get it to stop completely. Think I’ll have to contact Vodafone and see if they can help sort it out.

Got a message saying I'm signed up to some vmcomps thing charging me £4.50 every week unless I reply STOP to 64640. It mentioned vespermoon ltd and gave a help number 01133708542. This has popped up quite a few times now... I’ve not replied though. Think it’s alright to just bin these texts? Also, who do I contact if I end up getting billed without realising?

Back in February, I got this identical text and just ignored it thinking it was some sort of scam trying to steal my info and slap charges on me if I replied. Today, my dad told me he got the same message and unfortunately, he ended up getting charged. I rang up EE and they put a block on the account, telling me to reach out to them by phone or email for more help. But annoyingly, just tonight I got another text telling me to reply STOP or call a different number if I needed support. Fingers crossed they’ve managed to stop any more charges!

My other half, who’s on my EE mobile plan, luckily fell for this dodgy scam. We made sure not to engage with those cheats running it and reached out to EE straight away. They were absolutely brilliant - sorted a refund for the charges we’d already got and stopped them from trying anything else down the line!
