I just got my Three bill, and lo and behold, there's a £5 charge for Shortcode SMS dated 28/10/2016. After scouring my messages, I found one from that day saying: "WIN a brand-new Range Rover Sport! Your entry's confirmed. Click here for car pics: https://bit.ly/2ar9Uo0 [email protected] or ring 0203 0868953." The thing is, I never signed up for any of this nonsense. Three mentioned it was linked to a company called Zamano. When I queried them, they just shrugged it off and said I should ring the number to figure out how I ended up entering a survey or competition. What a complete farce!

Got a text from 64500 back in October 2016 saying I was charged £5 just for receiving it! Total rip off! I called the 3 network and their customer service was dreadful - they just shrugged it off and told me to deal with the third party directly. I emailed them ( [email protected][###] ) and got a call the next day saying I’d get a refund within a week via text and had to go to the post office too. Not holding out much hope though, especially with how useless 3 have been!

I’ve just been hit with a £5 charge for a random message claiming I’ve got a chance to win a Range Rover. Absolutely ridiculous!

I’m planning to reach out to Three about this, although I doubt I’ll see that fiver refunded. I’ll also request them to place a block on my phone to stop this nonsense from happening again.

Those idiots charged me £5 just for one text I got! Luckily 3 put the money back in my account, which was decent of them, and they also blocked any more calls and texts that would cost extra. Definitely ask them to do that too! I also emailed the scoreacar guys, telling them to give me a refund and erase all my info they somehow managed to get hold of.

Got a message too and got charged £5. Rang Three who have given me a refund and said they’re on the case with the scammers. Also told the PSA about it. Just had a weird call from the scammers, some woman saying she’d be sending me a refund through the post office. She sounded like she was reading from a script or something. Don’t really know how the refund will happen, as they don’t have my bank or address info. Maybe it’s sorted through my Three account. I just wanted to end the call quickly, hoping I wasn’t being dinged for the call itself.

I’ve just found a £5 charge on my son’s account for some premium text service he never signed up for. I contacted Three, and they mentioned it was a third party issue, so they weren’t able to help me. They rang me back from 01223590555, and the chap claimed to be in Dublin, but I got the feeling he was actually in the Philippines. He even handed me another premium rate number to ring. I decided against calling them back; I reckon they’ve siphoned enough cash from us as it is.

Scoreacar[###] charged me £5 without asking. I called their support, they gave me an email, I emailed them back and got a reply in about an hour. Then, they called me a couple of hours later to say I'd get my refund in 3 days. Pretty decent service, I wish all scammers were this helpful.

Got a message while I was away on holiday and they’ve charged me £4.16 just for receiving it. I never signed up for anything like that. O2 told me to send STOP to 64500 and I’ve also sent the details over to O2’s spam reporting number, 7726. They also said if I ring the 020 number in the text, I might be able to get my money back from the company behind it.

I’ve had a right nuisance with the phone number 64500 - definitely a scam! If you’re on a pay-as-you-go plan and happen to have credit, beware, because they’ll swipe it from you quicker than you can blink. Fortunately, I managed to get my money reimbursed through giffgaff, so all’s well that ends well for me. If you find yourself in a similar predicament, make sure to report it. Also, it’s best to ignore any text messages that come from them to dodge any extra charges that might crop up!

I’ve come across a phone number, 64500, and I can confirm it’s a right nuisance! It’s some sort of spam that siphons off your pay-as-you-go credit if you’ve got any left on your phone. Thankfully, I managed to get my funds refunded from GiffGaff, so all’s well that ends well. Just a heads-up-if you find yourself in a similar situation, make sure to report it.
