Got a call from this number today, knew straight away it was a dodgy scam. Since I’m overseas and it would be pricey for them, I decided to play along like I was interested. The woman kept insisting there was something wrong with my computer. When I asked, she claimed she was from Microsoft. Thing is, I haven’t even touched my laptop in over half a year and it’s running fine. After grilling me with some tricky questions, she said I had a problem to fix and that I could either sort it out myself or “buzz off” - then she just ended the call! Honestly, I enjoy winding these scammers up more than they annoy me.

They keep calling really early, like 6 in the morning, and whenever I pick up, they just hang up straight away. It’s been going on almost every day lately. I’ve started leaving the phone off the hook because of it.

I got a call from someone claiming to be from some "do not call" list or something, asking me for my details like my name. I mean, they rang me first! Seems dodgy to me, probably some sort of scam.

I was expecting a call from a family member and this number popped up. Usually I’d just ignore unknown calls, but I picked up just in case it was the one I was waiting for.

Some bloke asked for me by name and said he was from a company, something like Care and Butler - I didn’t catch it all clearly. I asked if it was a sales call because I’m on the TPS register. Then he told me to double-check with TPS to see if I was on their list. I ended the chat by telling him off quite rudely and have since blocked the number.

Honestly, do these cold callers ever realise that bothering people like this just doesn’t work?

Today I got a call from this number here in New Zealand but the caller just dropped the line as soon as I picked up. Tried returning the call and the US operator told me the number isn’t active anymore, which is odd considering they just rang me.

Got a call from this number around 2:30 this afternoon. Told the person on the line that I don’t own a computer. Also mentioned that what they’re doing is illegal and that the conversation was being recorded. Then I just ended the call.

I've been getting calls like this four times in the past week, even during the bank holiday weekend! They always claim to be from 'Microsoft' and say they want to fix issues with my computer. They're actually scam callers, so don't be fooled - just tell them to buzz off! Some of the numbers I've seen are 0016077229665, 0015183999911, and 0017607339957.

Watch out! This is a scam where they try to get your personal info about your computer. Microsoft definitely isn’t phoning you! Also, don’t answer calls from these numbers: 016075628715, 03122638267, or 05852439768. Stay safe!

i’ve had calls from these people a couple of times already! it’s definitely a scam where they try to get access to your computer and nick your details. watch out! when i told the bloke they were scammers and called them out, he started calling me a jackal and an alligator - not sure what that meant, probably an insult. i just found it quite funny and laughed it off! the guy on the phone had an indian accent.
