Today, I received an unusual call from someone who claimed to be conducting a telemarketing survey. They mentioned that they would call me again tomorrow because I was busy at the time. It seemed quite strange to me. Moreover, yesterday I received a text message on my mobile phone. The sender appeared to be "[email protected]". The subject of the message was "Account Suspension Warning". The message stated that my BMO MasterCard with the number 5524890XXXXXXXXX was going to be suspended. In order to prevent this, I was instructed to call 1-866-601-2194 before 07/03/2016. The message was signed as "Bank of Montreal - Customer Care". However, please be aware that I do not have any BMO card. So, it's better for everyone to be cautious.

On January 8, 2016, I received a call from a woman claiming to be from Scotiabank. Initially, she requested information about my Scotiabank Visa. However, when I reiterated my reluctance, she then proceeded to inquire about all the Scotiabank services I utilize. Sensibly, I refused to engage in conversation with her. Suspecting potential fraud, I firmly declined her proposal to call me at another time. I emphasized that discussing such matters over the phone is risky due to the prevalence of scammers. Instead, I informed her that I prefer addressing these concerns directly at the bank. Accepting my decision, she simply responded with "Okay then" before I ended the call. As a precautionary measure, I have decided to add her number to my call block list.
