10 yearsGot a call early morning, around 8, with a voicemail referencing a file number and a woman named Mitchell Smith, who supposedly lives here but doesn’t. They asked me to ring back on 1-888-891-6691 ext 6231. After googling, I found out it was a debt collection outfit. We don’t owe anything, so I called them to get our number taken off their list. I gave them the file number they mentioned, but then they asked what number I was calling from. I asked why they couldn’t just find it by the file number instead. They said they’d called 14 different numbers and couldn’t search that way. Then their tone turned unfriendly and they tried to cut me off. Guess who ended the call first?
