9 yearsReceived a rather dubious call from someone claiming to be from the "Federal Investigation Bureau". They tried to panicked me into thinking I had some unresolved issues with the IRS that urgently required my attention. When I dared to ring them back, their attitude was shockingly unpleasant. I demanded they take my number off their list and informed them I'd lodged a complaint about the caller ID. The woman, who sounded Indian, had the audacity to retort, saying, "They've taken away my delete button, so I can't do that", before abruptly ending the conversation. To top it off, she redialled just to hang up on me again, not once but twice! Utterly disgraceful SCAMMERS, if you ask me!Federal Investigation BureauIRS9 yearsI received a rather alarming voicemail requesting that I return their call. They claimed my name, social security number, and address were involved in a federal probe. They warned that if I failed to respond, they would take legal action against me. The caller had a thick accent that made it difficult to understand. Quite unsettling, to say the least!9 yearsJust had a call from the same number roughly an hour back! I couldn't help but chuckle and ended the conversation after a good three minutes. The chap on the other end was trying to get me to confirm my address, but I wasn’t about to bite. His accent was so strong that I could barely follow what he was saying, and he was rattling on far too quickly for me to be bothered. Honestly, I can’t see the government farmed out tax collection like that. Nice effort, but you’ve got the wrong person, mate! Total scam alert!9 yearsGreetings, Today I received a handful of missed calls from an unfamiliar number (240-200-9760). They left a voicemail featuring a woman’s voice with a rather thick accent. The only thing I managed to catch was something about an "investigation department." When I attempted to return the call, the line was excessively crackly, and once more, I was met with that same heavily accented voice. Has anyone else encountered this particular caller? I'd appreciate any insights. Cheers!9 yearsI received a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, insisting that I owed money and hadn’t filed my taxes. When I tried to ask who I was speaking with and which office they were from, they wouldn't provide any information and just hung up. I've gotten identical calls from three different numbers. It's definitely a scam!IRSSubmit Your Own Report (024 0200 9760)
