Oh, here we go again! This morning, as I was heading to my workplace, I got a call from that same number. The caller claimed to be after someone named Christine Moss, with an ID number of 640035. She started hurling accusations at me, saying I was a “criminal” and even threatened to involve the police. I couldn’t help but chuckle - it’s quite clear to me that no IRS agent would ever resort to such ludicrous language! I told her to feel free to summon the authorities, because I certainly wouldn’t tolerate her outrageous behaviour. We ended up getting cut off, and I haven't heard another peep from her since. What a sham!

I had an unusual phone call recently; the caller introduced herself as Megan. However, the caller ID displayed a different name entirely - Harry Ketal. When I reached out to the Internal Revenue Department of Investigation, they were able to verify their identity with an official employee ID number that I could confirm through their official channels. It’s standard procedure for the Internal Revenue to send correspondence on their letterhead, so I’ll definitely be following up on that.

I received a right dodgy call claiming to be from the IRS investigative unit. The chap on the other end, though, had an accent that made it sound like he was calling from India. Definitely a scam!

I recently received a call from this particular number as well. The caller claimed to be from the Fraud Department of the IRS. I pointed out to her that the IRS typically communicates via letters, not phone calls, to inform people about any issues. She casually said I could simply hang up if I suspected it was a scam. So, I did just that!

I've just had a right laugh at a supposed scam involving the IRS. They claimed I’d received letters on two occasions and insisted I should jot down some details and visit their website. Apparently, someone was impersonating my taxpayer ID! Surely if there was a real issue, the IRS would opt for certified mail to my registered address? When I called them out on it, the tone of the caller turned rather curt. Oh, and the accent was definitely foreign-typical, really!
